Peaks & Pints Proctor Pride Beer Flight

Share

Launched in June 2023, Proctor Pride began humbly with a small “Happy Pride” display at the end of the Mason Path at 27th and Mason Street in Tacoma’s Proctor District. A modest offering of 50 Pride flags and assorted rainbow pins—free to all—was intended to brighten days and send a clear message: everyone is welcome in Proctor. The community response was overwhelming. The monthlong supply of Pride gifts was gone in less than two days. A restock followed, bringing more than 300 flags and 250 pins to the neighborhood.

For 2024, Proctor Pride expanded its goals to include broader neighborhood support, more rainbows, and a more profound commitment to The Trevor Project, a leading organization dedicated to suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ+ young people. “Together, we can help Trevor provide lifesaving and life-affirming resources to LGBTQ young people and communities,” says Proctor Pride co-founder Scott Adametz.

Proctor Pride’s mission, he explains, is to “foster a diverse and inclusive community where everyone can authentically express their identities without fear or prejudice. Through advocacy, education, and support, we strive to uplift and empower LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and allies, creating a safe and affirming environment that celebrates the rich tapestry of human diversity. Together, we work toward building a community where Pride is not just celebrated but embraced as a fundamental human right.”

We’re happy to report that Proctor Pride has returned in 2025 with even more love, more Pride swag, and another strong push to raise funds for The Trevor Project. To celebrate, Peaks & Pints presents a special Proctor Pride Beer Flight, highlighting breweries that brewed in the name of Pride and rainbows—a flight we call the Peaks & Pints Proctor Pride Beer Flight.

Peaks & Pints Proctor Pride Beer Flight

Future Primitive Queer Beer IPA

6% ABV

For the fourth year, Future Primitive Brewing has brewed Queer Beer IPA in support of White Center Pride and to foster diversity and inclusion in the White Center neighborhood. It’s a hazy IPA with a bready and grainy malt profile, accompanied by a light, sweet, and floral nose, followed by more floral, subtle herbal, orange, and tangerine flavors.

Aslan Brewing B Proud

6.4% ABV

Aslan Brewing’s B Proud Hazy IPA is their annual Pride beer, marking its 7th consecutive year—with proceeds benefiting Northwest Youth Services’ Queer Youth Services in Bellingham. Brewed with 2-Row Pale malt and wheat, plus Ekuanot and Talus hops, B Proud hits the nose with punchy pineapple and grapefruit, followed by apricot, pine, grapefruit pith, and sweet orange flavors. It’s smooth, thanks to a high wheat bill, balanced with a dry bitterness.

Matchless Rainbow Jetplane

6.5% ABV

In 1978, Gilbert Baker, an openly gay man, designed the first rainbow flag to represent the gay community at the request of San Francisco-based politician Harvey Milk, the first openly gay official elected to office. “As a community, both local and international, gay people were in the midst of an upheaval, a battle for equal rights, a shift in status where we were now demanding power, taking it,” said Baker. “This was our new revolution — a tribal, individualistic, and collective vision. It deserved a new symbol.” Matchless Brewing has just released its annual Rainbow Flag IPA, Rainbow Jetplane. Brewed with El Dorado, Mosaic, Centennial, and Topaz hops, this jet plane is ready to take you to the land of tropical juicy flavor.

Cloudburst Pure Possibility

6.5% ABV

“It’s June! Which also means, it’s Pride! For this year’s IPA, we’ve teamed up with a new artist – Monyee Chau (ig: monyeeart) – to design a label for us! says Cloudburst Brewing. “They’ve also chosen the Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network (ig: twocsolidaritynetwork) as their non-profit of choice, and we will donate 10% of our tasting room sales of this entire batch! This beer is bright, positive, and juicy – thanks to lots of Citra hops, plus a lil Cascade & Idaho 7 – but that doesn’t mean everything is all unicorns and tangerines these days. This current administration is putting the lives of LGBTQIA+ humans at risk while stripping them of their unalienable rights – via erasure and censure from books & education, attempting to ban trans people from the military, defunding healthcare services and youth outreach programs, removing the X gender designation from US passports and only recognizing sex assigned at birth… The list goes on and on, and the time is NOW to FIGHT – with your voice, with your words, with your time, and with your dollars. This beer helps, in the tiniest way. But imagine the Pure Possibility that every human is allowed to live their truth and to be treated equally, without fear. Let’s get to work!”

Ladd & Lass Rainbow Fabulous

6.7% ABV

Ladd & Lass Brewing’s 2025 Rainbow Fabulous is a vibrant New England-style hazy IPA brewed in celebration of Pride Month. Clocking in at 6.7% ABV, this lush, juicy beer is packed with HBC 1019, Cryo Citra, and Cryo Krush hops, delivering bright bursts of pineapple, citrus, and white grape flavors layered over a creamy, soft mouthfeel. Named in honor of the Fabulous Rainbow Tavern—a queer-friendly music venue that once occupied the brewery’s space from 1973 to 1986—Rainbow Fabulous pays tribute to Seattle’s LGBTQIA+ history while supporting its future, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Lambert House, a nonprofit for LGBTQIA+ youth.
