After experimenting with saisons as gypsy brewers, brothers Chase and Colin Healey decided it was time to plant roots. With the support of fans, they raised more than $20,000 on Kickstarter and launched Prairie Artisan Ales in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2012. Chase took the reins in the brewhouse, while Colin brought the brand to life with his vibrant, offbeat artwork and logo design. Together, they introduced a fresh take on brewing — from bold, barrel-aged stouts to crisp, funky farmhouse ales. Today, Peaks & Pints celebrates its creativity with an in-house tasting: the Peaks & Pints Prairie Ales Sour Flight.
Peaks & Pints Prairie Ales Sour Flight
Prairie Lemon Slice
5.2% ABV
This seasonal fruited kettle sour is crafted with lemon zest, fresh lemon juice, and a touch of vanilla, offering flavors reminiscent of lemon custard or a light lemonade with a velvety finish.
Prairie Spicy Pickle Monster
5.3% ABV
Brewed with spicy dill pickles, citrus juices (including orange, lemon, and lime), and a hint of habanero heat, this bold and unconventional sour ale offers a salty, tangy, and mildly spicy experience that fans describe as a “pickle bomb.” Its unique flavor combination delivers a briny, sour note upfront, followed by bright citrus notes and a lingering, gentle spice on the finish.
Prairie Side Peach
5.5% ABV
This vibrant, fruited kettle sour is brewed with fresh peach purée and a playful addition of peach gummy rings, creating a juicy, candy-like experience with a tangy backbone. The sour’s beauty lies in its balance—bright stone‑fruit notes merge effortlessly with the sweetness from gummy candy and a puckering finish that keeps you reaching for another sip.
Prairie Buzzer Beater
5.5% ABV
Sour ale brewed with Glacier Freeze sports drink that tastes like a tangier version of a particular sports drink, which won’t keep you hydrated.
Prairie Tiny Esses
5.9% ABV
Riding your bike all over the neighborhood with your friends, having sleepovers in backyards, basements, tree houses, and popping Skittles all summer. Prairie offers the same Gen Z summer experience without the bikes and sleeping bags: Tiny Esses, their sour ale made with popular rainbow chewy candy bits of orange peel, lemon peel, lime, and Skittles. Expect electric lemon-lime to juicy strawberry, swirling into one intoxicating blend of sugary tartness.
