Peaks & Pints Proctor Pride Rainbow Beer Flight

Share

Pride is the civil rights movement of our generation. Fifty-six years ago, this summer, New York City bar patrons of many genders, sexualities, and racial identities trapped a group of police officers inside the Stonewall Inn after they shut down the bar in yet another routine raid. Riots continued the following two nights as the LGBTQIA+ community spread word that something unique was happening in Greenwich Village. However, whatever happened that night lit a spark that lasted for several days and propelled America’s gay rights movement — the Gay Liberation Movement — forward. Every June, Pride month, we celebrate their uprising with Pride parades, rallies, parties, dances, art, and more. It’s the time when lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, queer, and questioning folk celebrate their heritage, continue, and intensify their ongoing struggle for equal civil rights and look forward to a brighter future. Today, Peaks & Pints highlights breweries that brewed beers in the name of Pride via an in-house beer flight we call Peaks & Pints Proctor Pride Rainbow Beer Flight. Also, Peaks & Pints will keep a Proctor Pride tap pouring Pride beer and cider through June Pride Month and July Tacoma Pride Month.

Gigantic Sassy Pony

5.5% ABV

Self-described as “frisky and hop forward”, Gigantic Brewing‘s Sassy Pony is hazy liquid gold in a glass. While not an official Pride beer, Sassy Pony’s vibrant caricature label is a riot of rainbow colors and ponies that pop the bottle right off the shelf. With a rocky pour, the nose is lively and energetic with scents of citrus oils and hops, but doesn’t assault you with the typical funk of an over-hopped pale ale. The flavor has an upfront mildness reminiscent of classic Citra and Cascade hops, but unfolds with layers of faint tropical fruits, fresh-cut grass, and even a slight farmhouse ale hay finish.

Future Primitive Queer Beer IPA

6% ABV

For the fourth year, Future Primitive Brewing has brewed Queer Beer IPA in support of White Center Pride and to foster diversity and inclusion in the White Center neighborhood. It’s a hazy IPA with a bready and grainy malt profile, accompanied by a light, sweet, and floral nose, followed by more floral, subtle herbal, orange, and tangerine flavors.

Logan Heart of Gold

6% ABV

Chris Palumbo, a UC Davis graduate in Managerial Economics with a focus on brewery production, combined his professional brewing experience from Sacramento and Seattle with over a decade of homebrewing to establish Logan Brewing. The brewery’s taproom features a video game-inspired theme, reflecting Logan’s passion for video and board games, and fosters a family- and dog-friendly atmosphere. And Pride. Logan Brewing’s Heart of Gold is their annual Pride beer. This strawberry-mango blonde ale is brewed specifically to celebrate Pride and to kick off the celebration for Burien Pride. The brewery hosts a street party in front of their Burien taproom each year to mark the occasion.

Fort George City of Rainbows

6.2% ABV

“Astoria is a city of flower farmers, a city of beekeepers, a city of forest workers and salmon fishers and pilot boat drivers,” says the Fort George Brewery City of Rainbows Hazy IPA storyline. “We’re a city of immigrants, a city of Native Americans, a city of rhododendrons, a city of potholes, a city of bakeries, a city of breweries. This is a city of languages, a city of cultures, a city of history, a city of dreams. This is a City of Rainbows.” The Lower Columbia Q Center has been supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community in Astoria for 20 years. Fort George is proud to be a sponsor of the LCQC Pride Gala in 2025, hosting events and raising funds for the Q Center with City of Rainbows Hazy IPA as smooth as velvet with a bold, bright tropical aroma and a zippy finish thanks to Azacca, Ekuanot, Mosaic, Citra, Citra Cryo, Mosaic Cryo, and Talus hops.

Single Hill E.M.R.

6.6% ABV

E.M.R. is a New England-style hazy IPA brewed by Single Hill Brewing in collaboration with Yakima Pride. This beer honors the Empresses, the Mothers, the Rebels, and those who embody all three.
