TACOMA PREFUNK TUESDAY, JUNE 19 2018: Urban Family Downpour IPA and Strangers On the Earth

PREFUNK: The skies open with showers of Amarillo, Mosaic and Citra hops, thanks to Urban Family Brewing’s Downpour IPA, which is on tap at Peaks and Pints today. The Downpour of hops enhances this IPA into a highly drinkable offering of tropical fruit, orange and mango flavors.

1 AND 6:45 P.M. STRANGERS ON THE EARTH: There have been many works about seekers taking the 600-mile pilgrimage along Spain’s Santiago de Compostela Camino. Everyone from Shirley MacLaine and Paulo Coelho to Martin Sheen has weighed in with personal experiences. But Strangers On The Earth, a transcendent new documentary, takes a broad, expansive view of those travelling the Camino, and it has another hook: it’s underscored by music from J.S. Bach’s six suites for solo cello. Catch, and hear, it at The Grand Cinema.

6:05 P.M. TACOMA RAINIERS: Seth Mejias-Brean hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, leading the Tacoma Rainiers to a 5-2 win over the Iowa Cubs yesterday. With a 12-3 win over the Cubs Sunday, the Tacoma Rainiers have won eight of their past nine games. The two teams go at it again tonight at Cheney Stadium.
