Proctor Presents: Peaks and Pints and Connections Fine Jewelry
In Tacoma’s North End lies a tiny hamlet straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting — Proctor District. Beautiful young families emerge from historic homes to grab a latte or a movie. Cherubic toddlers giggle in tow as their parents glide from endearingly homely restaurants to small boutiques where employees almost certainly know their customers’ names. Lights twinkle from trees. Dogs are offered complimentary water bowls. Nearby University of Puget Sound adds energy and the arts. Tacoma’s Proctor District also has a plethora of holiday gift ideas. Here are today’s Peaks and Pints Proctor Presents. …
Connections Fine Jewelry
New Year’s Eve is like no other night of the year. It calls for drama and demands flair. It turns the game of dress-up into a grown-up affair. If you’re seeking the final touches for that fabulous holiday costume, look no further than Connections Fine Jewelry in Tacoma’s Proctor District. In the early ’90s, Tad Kraus founded Kraus Diamond Specialty in Lakewood. A few years later, Tom Donnelly opened Connections Fine Jewelry inside Kraus’ store. Kraus retired and Donnelly took his jewelry business on a tour of Tacoma. In 2015, Kraus came out of retirement and joined Donnelly’s new location in the Proctor District as Peaks and Pints was under construction four doors down. Connections specializes in custom estate jewelry, as well as one-of-a-kind engagement rings, wedding band or pre-owned Rolex watches. They will also trade unwanted jewelry for new jewelry. Right now, they have a beautiful custom aqua 8-carat ring surrounded by 1.32-carat diamond, custom moonstone 12.25-carat ring surrounded by 1.48-carat diamond, and an 1910 estate platinum 4.95-carat diamond ring with a 1.5-carat center diamond plus sapphires. 3822 N. 26th St., Tacoma, 253.752.0940
Peaks and Pints
Today’s Peaks and Pints Package Present is a 22-ounce bottle of Fremont Brewing 2016 B-Bomb and two snifter glasses.
The year 2016 is when Fremont changed the name of its Bourbon Barrel-Aged Bourbon Abominable Winter Ale to simply, B-Bomb. That year’s release of B-Bomb (14%) is aged in 12 and 15 year-old American oak whiskey barrels and is a blend of 24 and 12-month old barrel strength Winter Ale. It smells delicious with chocolate, vanilla, and sweet bourbon barrel goodness. The bourbon is still present with vanilla and a hint of faded hops. 3816 N. 26th St., Tacoma, 253.328.5621
