Peaks & Pints supports Proctor Pride 2024
Launched in June 2023, Proctor Pride has humble beginnings with a small “Happy Pride” display at the end of Mason path at North 27th and Mason Street in Tacoma’s beloved Proctor District. Fifty Pride flags and assorted rainbow pins were offered free of charge to help brighten people’s days and show everyone is welcome in Proctor.
The response was overwhelming.
The proposed monthlong supply of Pride gifts ran out in less than two days. A restock brought more than 300 flags and 250 pins to the neighborhood.
Proctor Pride 2024 has bigger goals with more neighborhood Pride support, more rainbows, and a commitment to support The Trevor Project, a leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.
“Together, we can help Trevor provide lifesaving and life-affirming resources to LGBTQ young people and communities,” states Proctor Pride co-founder Scott Adametz.
Proctor Pride’s mission is to, “foster a diverse and inclusive community where everyone can authentically express their identities without fear or prejudice. Through advocacy, education, and support, we strive to uplift and empower LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and allies, creating a safe and affirming environment that celebrates the rich tapestry of human diversity. Together, we work towards building a community where pride is not just celebrated but embraced as a fundamental human right,” says Adametz.”
Peaks & Pints craft beer bar, bottle shop and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District supports Proctor Pride, June Pride Month, and Tacoma Pride Month in July. We’ll dedicate a draft tap to Pride brewed beer, as well as offer Pride Beer Flights here and there through July 31, 2024.
