Peaks and Pints Pilot Program: RaR Beer Flight

Share

In 2013, J.T. Merryweather and Chris Browhan opened Real Ale Revival, or RaR Brewing, on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, Maryland. The two graduates of Cambridge-South Dorchester High School had left the Eastern Shore for college and followed careers elsewhere before taking their homebrewing hobby to the next level, and by next level we mean a professional brewery in an 80-year-old former pool hall and bowling alley with a goal of producing well-balanced American pale ales and Belgian inspired brews 10 barrels at a time. Today, Peaks & Pints welcomes RaR top Tacoma with a to-go flight of their beers. Stop by our craft beer and cider bar, bottle shop and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District and grab Peaks and Pints Pilot Program: RaR Beer Flight.

RaR Out of Order: Fritzle Frazzle

5.8% ABV

RaR uses their lactose sour base for Out of Order: Fritzle Frazzle then conditions it on bananas, cake batter, vanilla beans before blending it with their house pastry cream. If banana cream donuts were turned into a shake, then you’d have a Fritzle Frazzle situation.

RaR Out of Order: Blueberry Whipped Cream Waffles

5.8% ABV

RaR uses their lactose sour base for Out of Order: Blueberry Whipped Cream Waffles then conditions it on blueberries, maple syrup, vanilla cream, French vanilla, and lactose for more of a milkshake with tons of sweet vanilla.

RaR 10 Layers

7.2% ABV

RaR’s 10 Layers light bodied pastry stout is brewed with coconut, macadamia nuts, lactose, and vanilla. It hit the nose with nutty fudge and dark chocolate. The palate brings leads with coconut and vanilla before quickly transitioning to the roasted malt, nutty nougat, and fudge.

RaR Lumber Sexual

8.8% ABV

This hazy handsome fella is brewed with flaked wheat and oats, hopped with Simcoe, Idaho 7, and Citra Lupulin Powder, and loaded with late addition kettle hops and lupulin powder. It hits the nose with intense juicy peach, apricot, passionfruit, tropical fruit, and citrus. On the tongue, it’s juicy from start to finish with sweet grapefruit, citrus, subtle tropical fruit, light spicy fruit rind, apricot with a lingering light fruity sweetness finish.
