Peaks and Pints New Beers In Stock 5.16.20

While life has been different for most people these last couple months, one thing that remains the same is our love for craft beer. Peaks & Pints thanks 21st Amendment Brewery, 54-40 Brewing, E9 Brewing, Holy Mountain Brewing, Matchless Brewing, Sierra Nevada Brewing, Stoup Brewing, Varietal Beer Co., and Victor-23 Craft Brewery, and all the other breweries and distributors, including the delivery drivers, who help keep our cooler stocked. Cheers!

21st Amendment Brewery

TASTY JUICY PALE ALE: For the past several years, 21st Amendment Brewery collaborated with legendary homebrewer Mike “Tasty” McDole to create a tasty IPA, called Tasty IPA, aggressively hopped with Citra, Mosaic lupulin powder and Ekuanot hop pellets. This year, 21A adjusted the hops, and lowered the alcohol by volume, taking Tasty from an IPA to a “Juicy Pale Ale” that has more hop flavor and aroma and is less bitter. Light gold in color, refreshing, and flavorful with a bright hop character and carbonation, Tasty Juicy is easy drinking. 5%

54-40 Brewing

CRUSHED VELVET WEST COAST IPA: Smooth West Coast Style IPA brewed with oats for a velvety texture and balanced with Simcoe, Mandarina, and Citra hops for mango and citrus flavors. 7.4%

E9 Brewing

O’LEARY’S COFFEE MILK STOUT: Brewers intensified the dark, chocolaty malt body with lactose, the sugar in cow’s milk, hence why they’re more often called milk stouts. Brewer’s yeast can’t ferment lactose into alcohol, so it hangs around to give you a rich mouthfeel and a soft, creamy sweetness, balancing out the bitter and roasted qualities typical of its cousin stouts. E9 Brewery brewed a milk stout adding several pounds of Bluebeard coffee to the mix, a mix they call O’Leary’s Coffee Milk Stout.

SO WHAT: West Coast style IPA brewed with predominantly 2 Row and a small amount of Carahell malt. Fermented with a highly flocculating British ale yeast to create a fairly clear ale which lets the classic Citra and Mosaic aromatics of citrus, peach, melon and tropical fruits shine through from a massive double dry hop regimen. 6%

TAC CITY LAGER: Traditional lager brewed with a full-bodied malt bill of malted barley with a touch of Munich and Carahell malt. On the hot side it is bittered with Chinook, and flavored with Centennial. After fermentation and six weeks of lagering it is filtered and dry hopped with a copious amount of Cascade for the classic citrus, grapefruit aromatics. 5.9%

Holy Mountain Brewing

THE WHITE LODGE: A Belgian wit (white) beer brewed with a large portion of wheat along with pilsner malt and oats. Holy Mountain uses coriander and orange peel in the kettle, lending a blend of citrus and floral characters, and ferment with a traditional Belgian strain. It’s smooth and dry, with coriander upfront, a little citrus and toasted biscuity malt, with a lightly spicy finish. 4.8%

Matchless Brewing

APOCALYPSE FATIGUE IPA: This quarantine IPA is brewed with Comet, Centennial, Simcoe, and Cashmere hops under a light, malty backdrop of local Skagit Valley Fritz Pale and Munich Malts fermented clean with American Ale yeast for a tangerines and pine sap nose followed by citrus notes. 6.8%

Sierra Nevada Brewing

HOPTIMUM: Sierra Nevada’s hoppiest beer returns, a triple IPA brewed with Citra, Crystal, Ekuanot, Loral, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Strata hops. 9.6%

Stoup Brewing

KVEIK-E-MART (HAZY) IPA: Kveik yeast brings the sweet fruity esters and Strata, Galaxy and HBC 630 hops pack this IPA with a punch of citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruit. 6.1%

Varietal Beer Co.

CORAL MOTEL: Head Brewer Chris Baum brewed this hazy pale ale with his dad, John Baum, with the name a homage to his boat captain/motel owner(?) father. Sail the clear waters with this hazy dream, hopped with Loral and Comet for aroma of lemon blossom, followed by citrus flavor and mild bitterness. 5.9%

MIGHTY JUICE: This birthday hazy IPA for Varietal co-owner Chad Roberts is brewed with Citra, Sabro, Ekuanot, and Pahto in the whirlpool and a mighty dry-hop of Mosaic, Ekuanot, and Sabro for citrus & tropical flavor. 6%

WEEDWOLF – GREEN RITUAL: The latest iteration of Varietal’s WeedWolf experimental Double IPA series features Ernest, HBC 630, Mosaic, Pekko, and Pahto hops for a dank burst of citrus flavor. 8.1%

Urban Family Brewery

YOU ARE NOT ALONE: Urban Family joined Reuben’s Brews in the “You Are Not Alone” campaign to raise money for Seattle’s hospitality industry. Urban Family take on the beer is an American light lager brewed with Pilsner malt for “a beer that pairs well with its ‘industry-focused’ branding, and overall something we can all drink together, even if we’re all apart at the moment.” 4.4%

Victor-23 Craft Brewery

SKYJACKER IPA: Named for the airplane route between Portland and Seattle, Victor-23 Craft Brewery brewed their hoppy flagship Skyjacker IPA in honor of D.B. Cooper who hijacked a Boeing 727 flying on the Victor-23 airway on a stormy evening in November 1971. It has a clear golden color, aroma of citrus and pine, and a dry finish. 6.5%
