(swipe) My baseball season is over yet i’m still thankful we got one. But, this story isn’t about this season, it’s about the 2010 season. Even if you’re not a @sfgiants fan or a @mlb fan you might enjoy it. . Being from Santa Rosa it was about an hourish to get to Pac Bell Park and it was fairly easy to catch a game here and there. We got to the stadium early for batting practice and I caught my first ball EVER! It was batting practice but I was still beaming! As I remember we lost to the Rockies that night but still had a great time. . On the way out of the city we stopped for gas on Lombard. I probably was talking about the game when this beautiful brand new Mercedes S550 pulls up and for some reason, I just knew. To this day, I don’t know how i knew. “You guys! That’s Tim Lincecum!” Notoriously shy and private I knew i’d regret if i didn’t at least say hi but also didn’t want to make a scene. . But, wait! I had caught a ball earlier that day! I went into the quicky mart and quietly said, “Excuse me Mr. Lincecum I hate to bother you but is there anyway you’d sign my baseball?” – I was literally shaking holding a pen and my ball. . He was nothing but kind and friendly and even took a picture with me (old camera phone days but i’ll post it when i find it). The guy I was seeing at the time was a Dodgers fan (we all make mistakes ?) and Tim even took a photo with him. . I was absolutely on cloud 9. I’m not one to get star struck but athletes I look up to (cough cough @aaronrodgers12) I have a physical trembling reaction – ya, it’s not cute. . Do you remember the 2010 season? I do. My dad was born when the Giants moved from NYC to SF, my dad had waited his entire life to see the Giants win the world series. I so vividly remember us calling each other and crying on the phone after Wilson threw that final strike on a full count. . I went to SF that night and i won’t lie, i partied my ass off. Everyone was in a state of euphoria that we were finally champs. It’s a night I’ll hold dear the rest of my life. . RRBC 15’ Supplication because so many games were spent at Russian River watching the giants & RRBC sours smell like the brewery to me; they smell like home. ?

Releasing this Saturday in tandem with Story of the Ghost is Cardinal Coalescence—a Flanders-Style Red Ale both on draft and in 500mL bottles! Inspired by the classically tart and delightfully complex red ales from the Flemish region of Belgium, Cardinal Coalescence blends fresh red ale with portions of mature brandy barrel-aged ale from our wild cellar. Extended conditioning in our oak foeders allowed this blend to develop wonderfully balanced notes of pie cherries, caramel, and dried fruit character alongside a complex acidity. The online store to place pre-orders for both Cardinal Coalescence and Story of the Ghost for this Saturday’s Drive-Thru sale is now open through the link in our bio (https://b15tr.square.site), with walk-in sales available when our Tap Room opens at 11:30am. Both Cardinal Coalescence and Story of the Ghost will hit the road through Block 15 Distribution in the coming weeks and begin landing at accounts around the PNW soon! #DeliveringHoppiness #Block15 #Corvallis #OregonBeer #CraftBeer #InstaBeer

We are open 3-9pm today. Come by for a pint or two! We love to make and serve cask ales all year round, but around this time of year this traditional method of serving beer really hits the spot. Here are a couple of our cask ales that are perfect for the season. Autumn Bitter is a comforting seasonal bitter perfect for going into fall weather. Crystal Rye and Brown Malt provide a subtle toasty malt character, complemented nicely by the spicy, fruity character of English hops WGV and Jester. 4.1% Our Porter is tasting lovely right now and, like many dark ales, pours so nicely off the beer engine. A classic Brown Porter, with notes of chocolate malt and a clean finish. Pours a deep, dark reddish-brown, with lovely aromas of cocoa, caramel and dried fruits. 5.4% We also have both of our fresh hop beers, Simcoe Bitter and Citra IPA, still available on cask, in bottle, and 5L cask box!

FRIDAY – A duo of transcendent IPAs hits the app tomorrow and rounds out the week’s releases! West Coast meet East Coast with Afterglow and Shepherd of the Forest: The sunsets are coming earlier, but the warmth of summer still lingers in the air and Afterglow offers a path to serenity. Our West-Coast style IPA is brewed with California ale yeast and a dynamic pairing of El Dorado and Mosaic hops. (7% abv, $18/4pack) And just as the early morning mist rises amid the slumbering trees, a golden haze abounds in Shepherd of the Forest. Brewed with Vic Secret, Strat, Galaxy, and Citra hops, this hazy DIPA is delightful as the cool, over-canopied woods. (8.3% abv, $20/4pack) Portland folks can snag them tomorrow morning at 9am on the app, with pickup starting at noon @greatnotionnw and @greatnotionbeaverton. (Don’t fret, Seattle, both will be dropping @greatnotiongeorgetown early next week!)

??NEW. BEER.?? . “COCONUT MATCHA MAGIC” – Tea Refresher Ale conditioned on Coconut Flakes, Matcha Green Tea & Vanilla. 7.3% ABV . We snagged the flavor profile of one of our favorite green-drinks from the local Seattle Mermaid. Decided it would taste great in a beer and here we are. We dosed the boil with enough coconut powder to turn the entire liquid side of this beer into coconut water. Then conditioned it on MORE coconut flakes, Matcha Green Tea and Vanilla. Electrolytes be damed this could even be a hangover cure (look we aren’t doctors okay? So don’t take our word…sheesh). . Honestly one of our most unique and highly drinkable beers to date. We will keep rolling out the crazy if you keep drinking it. We love to have fun and we can tell y’all do too! . ?: @maloyaphotography . #greenbeer #sigbrewingco #coconut #matcha #downtowntacoma #greenmaid #iovebeerandbeer #dontsueusmallory #please #vanilla

Know any good abandoned places in Tacoma? We’re looking for vacant third floors, creepy basements that have been neglected for decades, empty warehouses, and tunnels to dark hidden places. It doesn’t have to be dark and creepy, though. As long as it’s been untouched for a good long time, we’d like to hear about it. There are a surprising number of these places hiding just above active storefronts and busy thoroughfares. We want to get in there and take some pictures and dig up a little bit of history. So if you know of a spot or you know someone who has access to something interesting, leave a comment here or shoot us a DM. These shots are from Old City Hall, the old Wonder Bread bakery on Sprague, and an undisclosed location downtown. ?: @sierra.hartman #hiddentacoma #tacomasecrets #tacoma #tacomawa #gritcity #tactown #253

Happy Friday! ?? If you’re coming out this weekend, here are King County’s most recent COVID updates to know: 6️⃣ Table sizes increased to 6 max ? Multiple households are allowed to be seated inside ? As always, mask up and social distance! Additionally, in preparation for the cold rainy season ahead, we rearranged our space to accommodate more of you inside (don’t worry, all seating is still 6 ft apart) and we’re working on setting up tents for additional dry seating in the beer garden! We understand if going out is still not an option or is still just scary. DO NOT FEAR!! We just had a can restock for pickup and delivery orders. ?
