Tacoma Sandwich Special of the Day: Hawaiian Crush

TUESDAY, FEB. 15 2022: Peaks & Pints Kitchen Director Robby Peterson says the Hawaiian Islands and an air mattress are calling his name. In the meantime, he whipped up a Hawaiian sandwich special of smoked pulled chicken, pineapple, teriyaki mayo, Havarti, and red onion on French.

PAIRING: Reuben’s Brews Crush The Groove

A collaboration with 5 Rights Brewing in Marysville, Crush The Groove is brewed with Azacca, Strata, and El Dorado hops from Roy Farms in Moxee. The result is an easy drinking hazy IPA bursting with flavors of orange, pineapple, and papaya, which pairs nicely with the sandwich. The crisp flavor of the beer complements the smoky sweetness, and the tropical, fruity hops cut through the teriyaki.

We’re open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, but we hope to return to “before times” hours when we’re able to seat at full capacity.
