6-Pack of Things To Do: February 2-3 2022

Remember: If groundhog Punxsutawney Phil leaves his hole and sees his shadow, it means we will have six more weeks of winter. If he nibbles on the bark of a neighboring tree, it means we must be better about attending our jazzercise class.

HAPPY TWOSDAY: OK, campers, rise and shine! Peaks & Pints has invited Two Beers Brewing to run two of their beers through a double Randle beer infuser on Groundhog Day. We’re calling it Peaks and Pints Two Beers Twosday with Groundhog. That’s right! Today is 2/2/22. Of course, we invited Two Beers to tap two of their beers and run them through our double Randle Coleman Cooler. The fact that the event is also Groundhog Day equals a bonus. Two Beers will be in the house beginning at 6 p.m. Why not 2:22 p.m.? Peaks co-owners and twins Robby and Justin Peterson have a haircut scheduled at that time. Too bad! 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, Peaks & Pints, 3816 N. 26th St., Basecamp Proctor, Tacoma

BEER FLIGHT: February kicked off yesterday with a New Moon in Aquarius ushering in the energy of new beginnings and change, and today, we will experience what some are calling the first of the last three 222 days of the century, occurring Feb. 2, 2022, Feb. 20, 2022, and Feb. 22, 2022. In numerology, the 222 sequence of numbers are often referred to as Angel Numbers. Also, the number 2 in numerology references the energy of duality, partnership, relationship, and balance. The key lessons when dealing with the number 2 are generally centered around compromise, acceptance, compassion, cooperation, harmony, and craft beer. Craft beer? Sure, there are plenty of 2’s in craft beer as you’ll discover in today’s to-go flight: Peaks & Pints Pilot Program: Twosday On the Fly. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, Peaks & Pints, 3816 N. 26th St., Basecamp Proctor, Tacoma

SPORTSMEN’S SHOW: It’s winter, and you’re hankerin’ for some good old-fashioned outdoor fun, but all you can do is sit by the fireplace and watch Aunt Tilly do the mendin’. Never fear, the Washington Sportsmen’s Show is here, with all the fish catching, bowhunting, and turkey calling seminars you can cram in to five days. Worried that your flies look like small curious animals? Check out a fly-tying demonstration. Worried your kids will destroy exhibits with their new Jedi moves? Drop them off at the kid’s trout pond. It all goes down at the Washington State Fair Events Center. Noon top 8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, Feb. 2-4, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, Ninth and Meridian, Puyallup

MUSIC: Join The Mill Steakhouse + Spirits, Open Range Entertainment, and EmCee Billy Stoops for Singer/Songwriter Showcase Series #36 tonight on the Mill Town Stage. This “music in the round” event showcases local artists telling the stories behind what inspired their original songwriting. Artists for showcase #36 include Kevin Andrew Sutton, Nicola Linde, Rod Cook and Stoops. 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, The Mill Steakhouse + Spirits, 900 Meridian E., Milton

FILM: The documentary Poly Styrene: I Am a Cliché profiles British punk icon Poly Styrene, who founded and fronted X-Ray Spex between 1976 and ’79. But this 95-minute film, directed by Poly’s daughter Celeste Bell-Dos Santos and filmmaker Paul Sng, is about dysfunctional families and finding love. Styrene’s daughter — who spent portions of her childhood terrified of her own mother — is determined not just to tell her mother’s story, but also to grant the singer a new degree of understanding. Catch it at The Grand Cinema. 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, 606 S. Fawcett, Tacoma
