MORNING FOAM FOR WEDNESDAY, NOV. 9: A seven-taster flight of craft beer news, from the fluffy head all the way to the bottom. …

Wingman Brewers will hosts its annual Denizens of the Dark Festival Saturday, Nov. 12, pouring big beers from around the world as well as its own dark creations, including the arrival of two Wingman craft beers — 2016 Stratofortress and 2016 Dark Waters Imperial Stout. Washington Beer Awards winner and iconic Wingman beer Stratofortress is a big, rum-soaked cedar-plank-aged Belgian Dark Strong not for the faint of heart. Dark Waters truly fits the brewery’s H. P. Lovecraft-themed Denizens of the Dark — cold brewed coffee from Bluebeard Coffee Roasters adds flavors of orange and cherry; Tanzanian cocoa nibs roasted by Tease Chocolates provide a rich and zesty chocolate flavor; smoked jalapenos from Oregon; and Cayenne peppers grown in Washington meld with ceylon cinnamon sticks to provide a spicy fruitiness and a very slight zing. More importantly, all these flavors come together for an indulgent dark beer experience fit for the Dark Lord Cthulhu himself.

NW Peaks Brewery and Spinnaker Bay Brewing have come to an agreement to see NW Peaks Brewery purchase Spinnaker Bay Brewing’s assets, which includes its brewery and tap room. NW Peaks Brewery will also retain the current brewers and will be able to produce and distribute Spinnaker Bay Brewing’s beer for a limited time. The two seattle breweries’ deal will be effective Dec. 1, 2016.

Rogue Ales announces the release of Voodoo Doughnut Grape Guerrilla Ale, the sixth in its line of doughnut-inspired beers. Voodoo Doughnut Grape Guerrilla Ale is based on Voodoo’s Grape Ape, a raised yeast doughnut with vanilla frosting, grape dust and lavender sprinkles. In this collision of crazies, Rogue Ales and Voodoo Doughnut continue to rally in their fight against boring beer.

Gigantic Brewing recently released two new beers that are part of its revolving lineup of bottled seasonal beers. The two new beers that are available in 22 oz. bottles and on draft are High Voltage Winter IPA and Shazoo Imperial Milk Stout. Plus the Southeast Portland brewery has just published its first issue of Gigantic Magazine.

Portland’s Ecliptic Brewing will release its 2016 Barrel-Aged Rastaban Oud Bruin for a second year Saturday, Nov. 12 with a limited tapping and bottle release. There will also be a very limited amount of 2015 Barrel-Aged Rastaban Oud Bruin bottles for sale.

Like most large cities in the UK, Manchester has a storied beer history. It’s home to several large, traditional breweries—J.W. Lees, Joseph Holt’s, Hydes, and Robinsons. Each of these companies also owns a large estate of pubs in northwest England. You don’t have to wander far down a Manchester street to come across one.
