TUESDAY, JUNE 28 2016: South Sound events + craft beer and cider …

Jazz and blues + Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. = Camp Cool
West Olympia Farmers Market + Fish Brewing Co. = Full Blast Summer

G’S SHOWCASE

Steve Smith’s G. Donnalson’s is an amalgam and a tribute to his parents and their names, George and Donna Lee Smith. Located next door to Peaks and Pints, the restaurant, wine bar and cocktail lounge serves a wide range of international foods and, more recently, live music daily. At 7:30 p.m. a variety of jazz and blues acts will perform with no cover at the door.
PREFUNK: Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is still camping in the South Sound. If you didn’t attend Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp earlier this month, or attend any of the several Beer Camp brewers’ nights in the area, you have another chance. The Copper Door will be serving flights of all six Beer Camp brews from 6-9 p.m. You must try Pat-Rye-Ot – Revolutionary Pale Ale, Stout of the Union – Robust Stout and Moxee-Moron – Imperial Session IPA before Sierra Nevada folds up the tent.

WEST OLYMPIA FARMERS MARKET

Ever since the Westside Tavern won the Weekly Volcano’s Tournament of Burgers in 2014, the real estate agents representing Olympia’s Westside have been inundated with inquiries. The Westside is happening, but that’s not news to those who live up on the hill. If you want proof, drop by the West Olympia Farmers Market from 4-7 p.m. In addition to an awesome selection of local vendors, this season features live music, raffles and special events. Drop by for fresh produce, baked goods, pastured poultry and meats, flowers, veggie starts and crafts.
PREFUNK: Fish Brewing Co. released a couple drinkers this month. The Olympia brewery’s Full Blast Summer Ale is a clean, refreshing summer ale with a large hop presence. The Mosaic and Amarillo hops give it a citrusy and resiny taste. Their Dry-Hopped Apple Cider is a semi dry sipper made from honeycrisp, granny smith, and Macintosh apples. The cider is then infused with Mosaic and Citra hops. Expect light, crisp, piney and citrusy aromatics. Drop by the Fish Tale Brew Pub and give them a try.
