Tacoma Runners Thursday Run, where downtown miles loosen the week and Odd Otter waits at the other end like a very reasonable reward

Tacoma Runners Thursday Run
Hosted by Tacoma Runners
Thursday, April 2, 2026 • 6:30 p.m.
Odd Otter Brewing Company, 716 Pacific Ave, Tacoma
Free • About 3 miles • All ages, paces, abilities, kiddos, and doggos welcome for the run.

This is the social kind of run, the kind that treats mileage less like punishment and more like an excuse to gather, move through downtown together, and let Thursday stop taking itself so seriously. Tacoma Runners’ weekly outing lands this week at Odd Otter on Pacific Avenue, sending the group out for a “3-ish mile” spin with room for runners, walkers, newcomers, regulars, kids, and dogs alike. It is gloriously low-drama: show up, jog or stroll, meet some people, feel better.

What to know before you go:
The run starts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, from Odd Otter Brewing. Tacoma Runners says all ages, paces, and abilities are welcome, and specifically notes that kiddos and doggos can hang in Odd Otter’s outdoor seating area after the run, weather permitting, though they are not allowed inside the bar. If you are new, the group asks you to register before your first run through its website.

Getting there:
Odd Otter’s downtown taproom is at 716 Pacific Ave. The ttaproom will be already be open well before the run begins. The location is also right by the Theater District light rail stop area, which makes this a fairly easy in-and-out downtown meet-up.

Why it matters:
Tacoma Runners has been doing this sort of thing for years: free weekly community runs, rotating locations, no fancy barriers to entry, just a durable little civic ritual built around movement and friendliness. It is one of those rare fitness traditions that manages to feel social first and athletic second, which is probably why it keeps working. That last sentence is my inference, but it fits the group’s stated all-skill-level, community-focused approach.
