TACOMA PREFUNK THURSDAY, JULY 19 2018: Brew Five Three Party and the Avengers

PREFUNK: The Broadway Center for the Performing ArtsBrew Five Three: Tacoma’s Beer & Blues Festival continues to be the one-stop check-in for craft beer in the South Sound. Saturday, Aug. 5, you can walk up and down Broadway with a taster glass and introduce yourself to the new craft breweries as well as 30 or so other breweries from around the state, while blues bands encourage you to get their crazy dancing on. At 5 p.m., Peaks and Pints has the pleasure of hosting a crew of Broadway Center volunteers armed with Brew Five Three tickets and craft beer on the brain. Stop by for a pint and grab advance discounted tickets to downtown Tacoma’s craft beer show.

7 P.M. AVENGER: INFINITY WAR: And so begins the grand finale to a fabulously successful experiment that only got off the ground because Robert Downey Jr. couldn’t get insured to do a respectable picture. There are some drearily solemn speeches, but you’ll remember the blowouts, and there’s plenty of time to wonder which of these faces you’ll see again. This epic, the first of two final Avengers films, finds the Class of ’12 — the core Avengers — getting together for one last rager, joined by select newbies and spazzes from the ranks of sophomores. Check it at the Blue Mouse Theatre.

8 P.M. RICH VOS: Best known from NBC’s hit reality show Last Comic Standing, Rich Vos will hit the Tacoma Comedy Club stage tonight. Vos’ show stems from his unique, no-holds-barred perspective on relationships, divorce and parenthood. He pulls no punches when it comes to comedy, as they say. On many occasions, he will deliver some of the quickest crowd banter, leaving audiences not knowing what to expect next.
