TACOMA PREFUNK SATURDAY, DEC. 9 2017: Loowit Roll For Experience +10 and Blade of the Immortal

PREFUNK: Vancouver, Washington-based Loowit Brewing Co. entered December with its creative juices flowing. Loowit released its 10th experimental IPA in its Roll For Experience series. This series showcases the brewing team’s commitment to innovation and the exploration of hops. Roll For Experience +10 (6.5%, 50 IBU) features Cascade, Mosaic and Strata hops for grapefruit and pine flavors. Roll on into Peaks and Pints and experience a pint of this tasty IPA.

4 P.M. COFFEE & CONTEMPLATION: The Copper Door, Bluebeard Coffee and Wingman Brewers collaborated on Coffee & Contemplation, an imperial coffee oatmeal stout “that is sure to delight both your taste buds and your synapses,” according to the Facebooks. Drop by The Copper Door and look thoughtfully at (and drink) it for a long time.

11 P.M. WEIRD ELEPHANT: The Grand Cinema presents another Weird Elephant screening, which means cult classics and fresh flicks that are bizarre, spine-chilling, fantastic, avant garde, retro or just plain mind-blowing. Tonight, Blade of the Immortal hits the screen. Think mixing the recent gloomy X-Men adventure Logan with the charm of True Grit, then setting it in Japan, in the mid-Tokugawa shogunate period (roughly 18th-century) and finally, proudly, just flinging buckets of blood, limbs, entrails and even more blood at the screen.
