TACOMA PREFUNK FRIDAY, DEC. 8 2017: Stones Throw Flat Penny Pale Ale and The Pearls

PREFUNK: In the spring of 2016, Jack Pflueger and Tony Luciano, the latter of whom is also the brewer, opened Stones Throw Brewing in the greater Bellingham area, a stones throw from the Interurban Trail, Boulevard Park, downtown Bellingham and Chuckanut Drive. The duo repurposed shipping containers in their sustainable building design. Their bar, featuring refrigerated cup holders, is made from two huge pieces of scrap steel once part of a bridge near Mt. Vernon. Peaks and Pints has tapped Stones Throw’s Flat Penny Pale Ale (4.8%), a delicious balanced and bitter beauty with a malt-forward flavor and hoppy aroma.

7:30 P.M. SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL: Everyone, step back! Horton is hatching not an egg, but … a musical? Tonight, the delightful tales of Dr. Seuss intertwine to create a holiday enchantment. Tacoma Little Theatre presents Seussical The Musical featuring Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, the Grinch, Cindy Lou Who and other unforgettable characters.

8 P.M. THE PEARLS: Vancouver, Washington-based quartet The Pearls plays country-rock, Americana and western swing. Their songs are gritty, nostalgic and highly melodic, and they throw gorgeous three-part harmonies over the whole mix. Check them out at The Valley tonight.
