Raise a glass to Tacoma Beer Week 2016

Share

Whew! Another incredible six days in the books. Tacoma Beer Week 2016 was the biggest and best yet, thanks to an amazing community of beer lovers, breweries, bars, restaurants, stores and distributors. This year’s schedule contained more than 40 listings, well over 200 percent increase over 2015. From Tacoma breweries brewing Beatles beers and the same folks climbing scaffolding during Barleywood Squares tic-tac-toe game, to Pacific Brewing & Malting Co. winning the Blind IPA Challenge and Silver City Brewery hosting a Putt Putt Tournament, it could be said there were more laughs than beers. But that’s crazy talk as there were hundreds and hundreds of beers drank from Monday, Aug. 1 to Saturday, Aug. 6 in the greater Tacoma area.

“Oh, man, wait to next year,” said Sean Jackson as he took a break from hosting a Session Fest at the Barleywood Squares at the Parkway Tavern yesterday. “I’m inspired to host even better events for Tacoma Beer Week 2017.”

He’s not alone.

Tacoma Beer Week 2016 may be over, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait for more great events. Many of the participating bars, breweries, and restaurants host special tappings, beer dinners, meet the brewer nights, and other festivities all year round. Follow them on social media or visit their websites to stay in touch.

In the meantime, below are a bunch of photos we here at Peaks and Pints snapped during Tacoma Beer Week.

See you next year.
