Peaks & Pints Thank You Beer Flight

Share

Last night felt like a song — nine years of friendship, foam, and flannel humming through the lodge like a favorite chord come to life. The room was shoulder-to-shoulder with longtime regulars, industry folks, and the ever-persistent World Series watchers sneaking glances between toasts. Finnriver’s Chelsea Anderson beamed over glasses of our new Buckhorn Dry Cider — crisp, balanced, quietly radiant. From Spokane, Bret and Hannah Gordon of Lumberbeard Brewing raised pints of Cut-Off Flannel IPA, tasting exactly like it should: pine, citrus, and pride stitched into one sleeveless pour.. Distributors, The Odom Corporation and Orcas Distributing, were in full force, keeping the taps flowing and the celebration glowing.

Then came the music — The Barleywine Revue shaking the rafters with bluegrass thunder, cupcakes appearing as if conjured, and co-owners, sleeveless flannel-wearing Pappi Swarner, and Robby and Justin Peterson, weaving through the crowd with the same kinetic charm that built this place from a dream and several dozen barstools. Robby even jumped on the kitchen line for a spell, because of course he did. It was the kind of night that reminds you why beer matters — laughter echoing off the walls, hugs traded like currency, the collective hum of community at its most delicious.

And today, we exhale — and say thank you. Thank you for nine years of showing up, raising glasses, and keeping this stubborn, wood-scented dream alive. This flight is our gratitude made liquid — five gems from last night’s taplist, each one a small hymn of thanks for everyone who makes Peaks & Pints more than a bar.

Peaks & Pints Thank You Beer Flight

Finnriver Buckhorn Cider

6.5% ABV | Dry Cider w/ Gravenstein Apples & French Oak | Chimacum, WA

Finnriver’s Buckhorn Cider is a love letter written in orchard ink — crisp, contemplative, and quietly radiant. A collaboration between Finnriver Farm & Cidery and Peaks & Pints, it bridges Chimacum’s mossy valleys and Tacoma’s cedar heartbeat, a shared horizon framed by Buckhorn Mountain. Pressed from heirloom apples and kissed by Gravenstein’s tart perfume, the cider rests in French oak just long enough to learn grace — soft vanilla, faint spice, the ghost of wood smoke at dusk. Each sip crackles like autumn light on wet leaves, finishing clean and dry as resolve. Buckhorn isn’t just cider; it’s communion — a toast to soil, patience, and every good thing that grows between orchard and glass.

de Garde The Frais à l’Orange (Fresh Hop Amarillo)

5.5% ABV | Wild Ale w/ Orange Zest | Tillamook, OR

The Frais à l’Orange from de Garde Brewing tastes like sunlight bottled by monks who surf. Born in Tillamook’s salt-kissed air, it’s a radiant tangle of Amarillo hops, oak-aged funk, and orange zest — alive, electric, slightly feral. Tangerine shimmer and meadow breeze rise from the glass; tart fruit, resin, and oak exhale across the palate. It doesn’t just quench — it forgives. This wild ale reminds us that gratitude can fizz, that joy can taste like zest and wind, and that even after the party, beauty lingers in the quiet that follows.

Lumberbeard Cut-Off Flannel IPA

6.8% ABV | Northwest IPA | Spokane, WA

Our house beer, Lumberbeard Brewing’s Cut-Off Flannel IPA, wears its work ethic — or what’s left of its sleeves — with pride. Born from Spokane steam and Tacoma mischief, it’s stitched together with Buzz Pale and Baronesse Munich malts from LINC Malt, then charged with Simcoe and Chinook hops until it smells like pine needles after rain. The flavor lands between citrus brightness and resinous depth, humming dry and clean to the finish. Equal parts grit and grace, this IPA embodies what Peaks & Pints stands for: craft, community, and a refusal to ever fully button up.

Firestone Walker Wookey Jack

8.3% ABV | Black Rye IPA | Paso Robles, CA

Firestone Walker’s Wookey Jack is a nocturnal hymn to duality — dark and bright, smooth and snarling. Roasted malt and rye spice waltz through Citra and Amarillo hops, bursting in grapefruit rind, cocoa, and piney heat. It drinks like a jazz riff caught in a thunderstorm — peppered, smoky, impossibly alive. Somewhere between the shadows and the citrus, Wookey Jack reminds you that balance isn’t silence; it’s symphony.

Deschutes Black Butte XXXVII

12.9% ABV | Tequila Barrel-Aged Imperial Porter w/ Orange Peel, Vanilla & Milk Sugar | Bend, OR

From Deschutes Brewery, Black Butte XXXVII is what happens when a classic porter trades Oregon firs for tequila sunrises. Aged in tequila barrels and infused with orange peel, vanilla, and milk sugar, it glows with roasted malt richness, citrus cream, and agave warmth. Each sip unfurls in layers — chocolate, oak, caramel, spice — until you’re left with the gentle hum of tequila and gratitude. It’s indulgence with purpose, a beer that celebrates how far we’ve come while reminding us that even legends can still learn to dance.
