Peaks & Pints Pure Project Friday Flight

Share

Pure Project doesn’t brew beer so much as conjure it — coaxing fruit, grain, water, and wild intention into something luminous, expressive, and unmistakably of its place. Born in the jungled lushness of Costa Rica before rooting itself in San Diego’s coastal light, the brewery built its identity on two obsessions: sourcing ingredients with monk-like devotion, and treating every beer as a tiny ecological love letter. Nothing is accidental — from the regenerative farms they partner with to the sensory fireworks they pack into each pour — which makes a Pure Project flight feel less like drinking five beers and more like wandering through five distinct weather systems. Today’s lineup at Peaks & Pints sweeps from crisp rain-washed pilsner to fog-cutting cold IPA, from sunlit resin to glittering haze to a double-hopped tropical eclipse, each one a reminder that purity isn’t about restraint but about intention — and when intention is this dialed in, the glass becomes a small, shimmering world of its own.

Peaks & Pints Pure Project Friday Flight

Pure Project Brewing Rain

5.3% ABV | German Pilsner | San Diego, CA

Rain opens with quiet poise, a bone-dry pilsner built on pristine malt, a soft touch of unmalted wheat, and the herbal finesse of Hallertau Tradition. A clean Pacific breeze seems to sweep through the glass, carrying floral edges and a whisper of bitterness, leaving the palate refreshed, reset, and reminded that simplicity — when executed with near-monastic care — can feel miraculous.

Pure Project Cold Current

5.6% ABV | West Coast Pale Ale

Cold Current shifts the energy into bright, coastal clarity, opening with pine, lemon rind, and a hint of woodsy coolness that feels like stepping into a shaded canyon just as the air turns crisp. Grapefruit and lemongrass ripple across a light, refreshing body, while Cascade, Citra Cryo, and Simcoe Abstrax weave a clean, citrus-pine bite that snaps the palate awake. Smooth, lively, and impeccably balanced, it drinks like a clear-sky exhale — a pale ale tuned to West Coast brightness and built for effortless refreshment.

Pure Project Pure West

6.6% ABV | West Coast IPA

Pure West changes the mood again, stepping in with classic coastal clarity: citrus peel, pine resin, and tidy bitterness arranged with almost architectural confidence. Grapefruit sparks the edges while the middle hums with resin, and the close lands with that unmistakable West Coast crunch. No haze here — only sunlight, sharp lines, and hop geometry rendered in gold.

Pure Project Diamond Dust

6.7% ABV | Hazy IPA

Diamond Dust softens the world back into a dream, drifting up in a shimmering cloud that helped define Pure Project’s “dust” lineage. Cashmere and Mosaic twirl through a pillowy body that blooms with peach, mango, coconut, and grapefruit zest — a tropical constellation suspended in slow motion. The effect is a gentle hop snowfall: bright, plush, citrus-kissed, and quietly enchanting.

Pure Project Super Beta

8.4% ABV | Double Hazy IPA

Super Beta escalates the flight into full celestial mode, sending Nelson Sauvin, Rakau, and Motueka into a swirling, white-grape and sweet-lime radiance. The mouthfeel is cloudlike, the flavors tropical and lifted — nectarine, citrus perfume, and a smooth hum with no bitterness to snag the moment. It lands like a hazy solar eclipse in slow motion: luminous, indulgent, and unhurried.
