Peaks and Pints Six Pack 12.18.18: Xmas coping

You’re thankful there are only a few more shopping days until Christmas; you’ve had it with staggering debt. But as long as the malls are going to ruin your credit ratings, they could at least provide a few amenities. For example, they need to do something for you waiting in line so that your kids can see Santa. Peaks and Pints recommends the mall hand out the six-pack we suggest below, just to keep up morale. And if alcohol is deemed too negative an influence on children, just swing by and grab it from Peaks and Pints’ cooler.

BOLD AS LOVE IPA, Brothers Cascade Brewing: Bold As Love IPA, with its large addition of Mosaic, Amarillo and Simcoe hops in both the boil and in the fermenter, grabbed a silver medal at the San Diego International Beer Festival 2018 and a bronze at the Washington Brewers Choice Awards. Its balanced body sets the perfect stage for this hoppy delicacy. 7%

BOURBON BARREL AGED EPITAPH, Heathen Brewing: Aged in wet bourbon barrels for several months, Epitaph Russian Imperial Stout emerges with aroma of dark roasted malt, vanilla, and a hint of bourbon. The flavor follows with the addition of notes of coffee and chocolate. Smooth and creamy, full bodied, with a very light booze finish. 12%

FALL OF TROY MILKSHAKE DIPA, Belching Beaver: Brewmaster Troy Smith wished he could hide in a dam after flubbing the brewery’s sixth anniversary IPA. That is, until he and his brewers tasted it. Fall of Troy is a freakin’ delicious orange vanilla milkshake double IPA with all the Mosaic hops. It’s a delicious Creamsicle DIPA. Fall of Troy was inducted into Belching Beavers’ brewers “Hall of Shame,” alongside other legendary brews, Ivan the Terrible and Josh Damnit. 8.8%

GRISWOLD HOLIDAY IPA, Narrows Brewing: Dry-hopped with three pounds per barrel of Galaxy and ultra-modern Chinook from Roy Farms, this hazy IPA will make the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny f—ing Kaye. Two different kinds of wheat help to soften the hop-forward, pungent passionfruit aromas and flavors. 6.8%

SCOTCH BARREL AGED IMPERIAL BROWN, pFriem Family Brewers: Aged in single malt scotch barrels, this imperial brown hits the nose with toffee and nutmeg, followed by bold flavors of creamy vanilla bean, Scotch, dried fruit, and cinnamon. Finishes with a touch of sherry and wood smoke, round, and warm. `10.5%

BRUSKI PATROL DARK LAGER, DRU BRU: Of course Dru Bru brewed a beer paying homage to the ski patrol — the brewery sits at the base of The Summit at Snoqualmie ski area. This German dark lager has layers of toast, chocolate, and dark caramel malt flavors. A touch of German-grown hops provides herbal and spicy notes to create this easy-drinking dark lager inspired by a Munich-style dunkel. 4.8%
