Jan. 3, 2020, Matt and Ryan Goodwin, and Joel and Jordan Tampien, two sets of brothers, opened Brick West Brewing Co. in the former Watts Automotive building on the west end of downtown Spokane. Behind the “beer hall” taproom and a large patio, Sam Milne brews the beers in the 15,000 square foot, 15-barrel brewhouse. Milne started as a home brewer before working at Pyramid Brewing Co. in Seattle and Kulshan Brewing Co. in Bellingham. He was a recipient of the 2018 Falconer Foundation Siebel Brewing Scholarship, which allowed him to study craft beer brewing at the Siebel Institute in Chicago and Doemens Academy in Munich. Today, Peaks & Pints presents a to-go flight of Brick West beer — a flight we’re calling Peaks and Pints Pilot Program: Brick West Beer Flight.
Peaks and Pints Pilot Program: Brick West Beer Flight
Brick West Pilsner
Crisp and refreshing with balanced bitterness and a medium body, Brick West Pilsner showcases German malt and noble hops. Traditional clean and bready malt flavors support herbal, floral and slightly spicy hop aromatics and flavor. Expect a dry finish.
Brick West Westbound Train Juicy IPA
Juicy IPA brewed with light malt character allowing Citra and Idaho 7 hops to shine with peach and grapefruit on the nose, followed by tropical fruit flavors, lemon, tangerine, melon, and juicy peach.
Brick West Brick X Brick IPA
This West Coast IPA is brewed with Amarillo, Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra hops for the beautiful fruity and pine flavors of Simcoe, the citrus of Amarillo, and the berry notes of Mosaic over a smooth malt presence, easy bitterness, and a clean finish.
