For generations we have seen, and partaken in, the tradition of counting down to Christmas by snacking on a sweet treat behind a set of 24 doors on an advent calendar. For something different, we offer the Peaks and Pints Adventwiches Beeralendar — a daily advent calendar with a sandwich special and a winter beer behind a door. We’re ho-ho-hoping you’re ready to eat and drink your way through December.

Day Two features A Christmas Chicken Story Sandwich and St. Bernardus Christmas Ale.

The sweet and spicy sauce on the chicken reminds us of Ralphie dining on Christmas Day, plus onion, pickles and Romaine on French bread. We suggest St. Bernardus’ Christmas Ale (10%) for a pairing, which is the Belgian brewery’s Abt 12 gussied up with rich malt, dark dried fruit, fig, hints of anise, nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar … basically a fruitcake.
