FRIDAY, MAY 19 2017: Walking Man Trespasser NE Style IPA before Prophets of Addiction and others …

PREFUNK: For the uninitiated, Walking Man Brewing’s IPA grabbed second place in the Peaks and Pints’ Tournament of Beer: Washington State IPAs last month. We dropped by the Stevenson, Washington, brewery a couple weeks ago for another round of congratulations. Head brewer James Landers and his assistant, Emily Albaugh, gave us a tour of the extremely efficient operation, although Albaugh was speed walking through a batch, which was her Trespasser NE Style IPA. We grabbed a keg. Loaded up in the whirlpool with Mosaic, Citra and El Dorado hops and then dry hopped twice with Mosaic and El Dorado, Trespasser is a juicy, fruit-forward pint of deliciousness, gives this beer a pleasantly unique hop character.  Brewing with oats makes for a smooth. Trespasser NE Style IPA flows from our Western red cedar tap log. Peaks and Pints, Tacoma

11 A.M. CRFT BEERS: Auburn, Washington, just became more delicious. CRFT Beers, a bottle shop and taproom celebrates its grand opening this weekend with brewery after brewery popping in with hugs, 41 taps, food trucks and raffle prizes o’plenty. CRFT Beers, Auburn

4:30 P.M. BIKE TO WORK DAY PARTY: Downtown On The Go told you to bike to work today. And, you did. Downtown On The Go now tells you to celebrate your feat over craft beers with fellow cyclists at The Hub. Can’t say “no” now. The Hub, Tacoma

6 P.M.: IT’S THE WATER: SHOWCASE OF TUMWATER BREWERIES: Beer brewing is alive and well in Tumwater, Washington, and the proof is in the pint tonight. Edison City Alehouse host Tumwater craftmasters WhiteWood Cider, Matchless Brewing and Triceratops Brewing. Edison City Alehouse, Tacoma

8 P.M.: THE PROPHETS OF ADDICTION: Tacoma’s Prophets of Addiction is a super glam band that’s all leather, hair and rock and roll. They’re about to hit the road for a little tour and The Valley grabbed them for an acoustic set before they piled into the van. Interpreter and The Fawcetts join the bill. The Valley, Tacoma
