Gritty City Sirens Christmas Carol
Date: December 23, 2016 - December 23, 2016
Event Information
When we think of Christmas, we don’t think chestnuts or sleigh bells—we think glitter, pasties, and just enough lace to legally qualify as outerwear. Apparently, we’re not alone. On December 23, the ever-fabulous Gritty City Sirens—Tacoma’s high-glam, high-camp burlesque brigade—celebrated their six-year anniversary the only way that made sense: with a Christmas Caroling Pub Crawl, complete with boas, heels, sass, and a detour through Peaks & Pints that left the taps blushing. It was less “Silent Night,” more “Sugar Plum Fairy with a switchblade and a killer shimmy.” Sequins sparkled. Mistletoe dangled. Someone may have twerked to Bing Crosby. The Sirens didn’t just spread cheer—they detonated it. A raffle benefitting Standing Rock brought the heart; the rest was all leg. Somewhere between the feathers and the froth, we found ourselves quietly hoping for an appearance by the Ghost of Christmas Ass.
