Legislation Encourages Investments in Draft Beer
What is the CHEERS Act? It is legislation that would offer tax relief to businesses investing in draft beer systems in the form of changes to an existing code. It impacts brewery taprooms, brewpubs, bars, restaurants, entertainment venues, and other similar establishments. Trade organizations across the hospitality and beer industries support the Creating Hospitality Economic Enhancement for Restaurants and Servers (CHEERS) Act. (Washington Beer Blog)
Cantillon Quintessence 2025
One of the lambic beer world’s premier events is the hallowed Brasserie Cantillon Quintessence, a gourmet beer and food pairing event first held in November 1998. Cantillon puts on a show for Quintessence, featuring rare vintage beers, as well as more recent and interesting small batch lambic collaborations. Each brew is paired with different locally made foods: small tapas-style bites. Zwanze Day and Quintessence will rotate annually, with the next Zwanze Day scheduled for spring 2026 and Quintessence for spring 2027. (Drink Belgian Beer)
