Established: 2015, now closed

Owners: Bryan Trunnell, Matt Smith, Neil Meyer and Jason Stenzel

Brewers: Bryan Trunnell, Matt Smith, Neil Meyer and Jason Stenzel

Location: Olympia

Status:
O‑Town Brewing—which once harmonized German tradition with Northwest grit, brewed on a modest 2-barrel system, and sent saisons singing into local taprooms—has officially closed its doors. The BeerAdvocate and Peaks & Pints listings mark O‑Town as no longer in business as of early 2023.

Specialty:
They brewed old-world styles with a Pacific Northwest brainwave: clean lagers layered with coffee infusions, IPAs that flirted with Kölsch clarity—and every beer with a nod to innovation. Their ethos: follow the rules by bending them—igers and dunkelweizens with hop twitches, banana foam meets West Coast citrus.

Five Notable Beers (still echo in local fridges):

  • Sails N Gunpowder – A hop-laced salute to coastal currents.

  • Kolsch Kobain – Gritty tribute to Kurt, crisp like beach breezes.

  • Oly IPA – Olympia’s liquid calling card: persistent, piney, proud.

  • The Hoppy Reverend – A sermon in Citra, balanced by Belgian benediction.

  • Oridian’s Hammer – A mythic mash-up of malt and citrus; heavy-handed but hopeful.

🦅 Fun Facts (veterans behind the mash paddle):

  • Owners Bryan Trunnell and Jason Stenzel are U.S. military veterans—beer and service marching side by side.

  • Trunnell once ran Kastellan Brauerie; S & M Brewing founders Matt Smith and Neil Meyer also contributed their legacy threads.

  • Though small, O‑Town production beer rolled through events and taprooms across the South Sound—no taproom, just beer moving quietly under the radar.
