TACOMA PREFUNK MONDAY, OCT. 30 2017: Stone Mocha IPA and Tom Cruise

PREFUNK: Stone Brewing, once again, resist status quo and offers a 9 percent double IPA brewed — inexplicably — with cocoa, milk sugar and coffee. Stone Mocha IPA blurs the lines between an IPA and a stout. Technically an all-out double IPA, this decadent creation is brewed with the combination of golden-roasted coffee, pure dark chocolate and citrusy hops. The result is a love child of a beer characterized by a beautiful meld of imperial IPA and mocha indulgence. Mocha IPA pours from Peaks and Pints’ Western red cedar tap log.

5 P.M. ALL HALLOW’S EVE EVE: Every year at this time, it’s the same old problem: What does the discriminating vampire or vampiress drink for Halloween? And what does nocturnal Count Sean Jackson serve his Parkway Tavern guests, both the dead and undead? Since bloodsucking and even blood sipping is frowned upon, perhaps insanely delicious craft beers from Avery Brewing and The Lost Abbey are something that his All Hallows’ Eve Eve partygoers could sink their teeth into. Count Jackson will tap TWO Randalls tonight — The Lost Abbey Judgment Day Belgian Quad and Avery Tweak bourbon barrel coffee imperial stout — loaded with fresh ingredients. If those two craft beers don’t send you to a coffin then The Lost Abbey Track #11: Devil Went Down To Georgia, Avery 2016 Raspberry Sour, The Lost Abbey Bourbon Serpent’s Stout, The Lost Abbey 2016 Deliverance, Avery Tequilacerbus, The Lost Abbey 2016 Track #8: The Number of the Beast, The Lost Abbey 2016 My Black parade, Avery 2014 The Beast and Avery 2015 Oak Aged Samael’s will.

7 P.M. AMERICAN MADE: Tom Cruise plays real-life commercial pilot and smuggler Barry Seal, who got caught up in the U.S. government’s efforts to help the Nicaraguan Contras deal coke and frame the Sandinistas for doing the same thing in American Made screening at the Blue Mouse Theatre. Filmmaker Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) is focused on the novelty of former Top Gun Cruise having to fly a small, crappy little plane for a change.
