Peaks & Pints’ Tacoma Beer Week Basecamp exists for that in-between moment — a daily gathering that stands as its own event while giving people a place to meet, share a pint, and set the tone before heading into the rest of the night.

Thursday, March 5, leans fully into the Proctor District’s walkable, neighborly rhythm with Tacoma Beer Week Basecamp: Proctor Prefunk, running 5 to 7 p.m. at Peaks & Pints. The evening serves as the warmup to the ticketed Tacoma Beer Week game show Um, Actually at the nearby Blue Mouse Theatre — a live trivia-style showdown where beer knowledge meets friendly chaos from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

To mark the occasion, Peaks & Pints will tap the brand-new Proctor IPA from Narrows Brewing Company, part of the brewery’s Neighborhood Series and brewed in collaboration with Peaks & Pints for Tacoma Beer Week. Built on a base of Prairie Pilsner malt, rolled oats, and white wheat, the hazy IPA layers Amarillo, Vista, Nectaron, and Cryo Mosaic hops into a bright, citrus-laced, softly textured beer designed to feel as much like the neighborhood as the name suggests. Peaks & Pints will tap other Narrows beers, including West End IPA.

Proctor Prefunk isn’t just about beer; it’s about proximity. A chance to start the evening with something local and collaborative before stepping into one of Tacoma Beer Week’s most beloved live events. The game show might carry the competition, but the Basecamp carries the neighborhood.
