Summer is an exciting time for beer nerds. Regionally, the season is met with the release of Fort George Brewery‘s (Astoria, Ore.) 3-Way IPA. The hoppy beer is an annual collaboration — in its 13th year — with two other West Coast breweries. Sunriver Brewing (Sunriver, Ore.) and Mirage Beer (Seattle, Wash.) collaborated on this year’s brew. Join Peaks & Pints for the Official Tacoma 3-Way IPA Release at 5 p.m. today. We will have 3-Way and other Fort George beers, plus several from Mirage, on tap. Fort George Sale Executive Kyle Vormestrand will be in-house sampling and handing out swag from 5-8 p.m. In conjunction, Peaks & Pints presents an all-day Fort George beer flight called Peaks & Pints Fort George Beer Flight.

Fort George Short Sands Lager
4.8% ABV
Short Sands Beach — just south of Cannon Beach on Oregon’s northern coast — is one of the state’s most popular beaches to hike, surf, and paddle. Lovingly called “Shorty’s” by the locals, this beach inspires Fort George’s Short Sands, a lager with an ideal balance of floral, fruity, malty, and toasty. Clean, crisp esters from a low and slow fermentation, classic German malts, and noble hops offer the barest touch of malt sweetness. Bonus: One percent of Short Sands Lager proceeds will benefit the Surfrider Foundation.
Fort George Design Trends
5.5% ABV
“Subway tile. Herringbone. Beige. Skinny Jeans. Cryo Hops. San Serif Fonts. If it’s a trend, we will be there,” states Fort George Design Trends hype. “We don’t want to brag, but we were putting beer in cans before it was cool. We had brats on the menu at the Pub until 2019. Trends. We do trends. We do Design Trends.” Fort George Design trends is a year-round, light, trendy West Coast pale ale brewed with Vista hops, Columbus, Columbus Cryo, and Nelson for a citrus nose, followed by pine, resin, and old-school hoppiness.
Fort George Sherman IPA
6.5% ABV
At Fort George, they recognize the boldest, zestiest, most outstanding employees with a prestigious award: The Sherman. Polishing the tap handles — that’s a Sherman. Knocking out pizzas for a surprise 40-top on a busy Saturday night — Sherman. Going the extra mile — that’s a Sherman. Fort George employees help each other and work together daily, but some operate on a different level of human kindness and productivity. Those people are Shermans. Sherman IPA is Fort George’s Employee of the Year beer. Brewed with Ekuanot, Indie Strata, and Luminosa Bold, Sherman is zesty and tropical with a superior motivational kick.
Fort George Electric Surfboard
9% ABV
One of the most challenging things about surfing is finding the right waves to ride. Unfortunately, since nature dictates the waves, surfers don’t have complete control over the ability to do this sport unless they use an electric-powered surfboard. This fact may come into play for some surfers when trying to practice or race. Fort George’s version is a double IPA brewed with Apollo, Ekuanot, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops for piney hops, orange, strawberry, pineapple, and a hint of floral hop on the nose followed by flavors of candied orange, sweet berries, stone fruit, ripe melon, and a malty, sweet finish.
Fort George 2025 Matryoshka with Vanilla Bean & Cocoa
14.7% ABV
The Fort George 2025 Matryoshka begins with a decadent imperial stout aged for one year in whiskey and bourbon barrels. During these 12 months of confinement, the robust flavor of the barrel tempers the dessert-like sweetness of the base stout to produce a rich, smooth, flavorful stout that is neither too thick nor too thin. This year’s Matryoshka was aged in Westward Whiskey & Westland Distillery Whiskey barrels. Smaller and smaller variations emerge from this mother batch, conditioned on complementary ingredients, creating a family of variants such as Veracruz and West Papua vanilla, cocoa powder, and cocoa nibs.
