Hey Peaks & Pints, you just won the Washington Beer #DrinkWaBeer Instagram contest — what are you going to do next?
We’re going to Disneyland! No wait, scratch that. We’re going to Marymoor Park, obviously — because it’s Father’s Day weekend, and the Washington Brewers Festival is turning 10, and what better way to celebrate paternal influence than by drinking 100+ beers in a public park surrounded by hopheads, food trucks, and lawn chairs that may or may not support your weight after a triple IPA?
First: a hoppy, heartfelt THANK YOU to the fine, fermentation-loving folks at Washington Beer for naming Peaks & Pints the grand prize winner of their inaugural #DrinkWaBeer Instagram campaign. For five glorious weeks, the state’s beer lovers filtered, cropped, hashtagged, and gently staged their way through weekly photo themes—everything from “Pour” to “Food” to “Sunsets” and beyond.
Peaks & Pints? We didn’t just play—we plundered. We took Week Four: Food and Week Five: Sunsets, capturing the twin joys of pairing local beer with actual nourishment and watching the sun go down with a Maritime Pacific Imperial Pale Ale in Hulk’s green plastic hand while kayaking, because obviously.
And what does victory taste like? We dropped by Maritime Pacific Brewery and Engine House No. 9, raised a few celebratory pints, and toasted our fellow camera-wielding craft beer disciples.
See you at Marymoor. We’ll be the ones lounging under a portable shade canopy, sipping something barrel-aged, and whispering to strangers about proper pour angles and the virtues of Citra. Cheers to sunsets, food, and the occasional green superhero.
