Tuesday, Nov. 12 2024: Peaks & Pints Kitchen Brittany can’t wait for Thanksgiving so she grabbed turkey meat and smothered it with provolone, roasted red peppers, whipped feta, onion, tomato, arugula and balsamic reduction on sourdough.

PAIRING: Ayinger Bräu-Weisse

Hefeweizens find harmony with tangy cheeses such as feta. Ayinger Bräu-Weisse smells deeply of ripe banana, lemon, and clove. It drinks super-smooth and a touch fruity and tart, before concluding dry and clean.

It is, after all, home to the first brewery on record, way back in 800 A.D., as well as the ultimate of beer festivals — Oktoberfest. About 25 kilometers from the Oktoberfest grounds in Munich, lays a little town called Aying, home to the beloved Ayinger Brewery (Brauerei Aying). This 150-year-old brewery has a deep family history, and remained almost completely unchanged until a new, updated brewery was built in 1999 to keep up with the growing market.
