Tacoma Arts Live’s 2025 fundraising gala, VIVID, is dedicated to bringing light, perspective, and joy as they move collectively toward a vibrant future for the arts. Seattle Cider VIVID Tart Apple

4.2% ABV

Brix is a measurement of sugar content in a liquid. When apples are milled and then pressed into juice, the sugar in the juice is measured in Brix. One degree brix equals one gram of sucrose in 100g of solution. On average, most apples grown in Washington state will be between 12-13° brix. The sugar in apple juice is fermented to produce alcohol and trace amounts of CO2, resulting in hard cider. After fermentation, additional sugars can be added to the cider to contain residual sugar. The source of this extra sugar can come from apple juice and other forms of sugar like honey or other fruits. The residual sugar content of a cider plays an essential role in helping to balance out the acidity and flavors of a drink. At 98 calories, 1.2° brix, and 4.2 percent ABV, Tart Apple is crafted from Seattle Cider’s favorite ingredient, freshly pressed Washington apples.
