Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Prairie Artisan Ales

Share

After sharing their different and experimental variations of saisons working as gypsy brewers, brothers Chase and Colin Healey decided it was time to have a brewery of their own. They raised more than $20,000 on Kickstarter with the help of fans and formed Prairie Artisan Ales in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2012. Chase Healey grabbed the brewhouse while his brother was the talent behind the fun, funky branding and logo design. Together, they brought a unique perspective to brewing — huge, bold barrel-aged stouts and super crisp and funky farmhouse ales. Today, Peaks & Pints presents an in-house flight of Prairie Artisan Ales beers — a flight we call Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Prairie Artisan Ales.

Peaks and Pints Beer Flight: Prairie Artisan Ales

Prairie Blueberry Boyfriend

5.4% ABV

Prairie’s Blueberry Boyfriend is a sour ale fling brewed with blueberries and lemon zest, which finds a harmonious relationship with a slight tinge of that classic Prairie funk you’ve come to know and love. The berry is intense blueberry but hints of strawberry, raspberry, and blackberry.

Prairie Buzzer Beater

5.5% ABV

Sour ale brewed with Glacier Freeze sports drink that tastes like a tangier version of a particular sports drink, which won’t keep you hydrated.

Prairie Tiny Esses

5.9% ABV

Riding your bike all over the neighborhood with your friends, having sleepovers in backyards, basements, tree houses, and Popping Skittles all summer. Prairie offers the same Gen Z summer experience without the bikes and sleeping bags: Tiny Esses, their sour ale made with popular rainbow chewy candy bits of orange peel, lemon peel, lime, and Skittles. Expect electric lemon-lime to juicy strawberry, swirling into one intoxicating blend of sugary tartness.

Prairie Struck By Lightning, Bit By Cobra

11% ABV

Juicy, thick, slightly hazy triple IPA hopped with Columbus, Simcoe, Citra, Centennial, Cascade, Amarillo, and Hallertau Blanc for a bright, fruity nose followed by hoppy tropical fruit and mango flavors.

Prairie Peanut Butter Weekend

12% ABV

Prairie graved their bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with toasted marshmallow, cacao, and coconut Weekend series base and added rich coffee roasted in thick and creamy peanut butter. Expect notes of mocha, Mounds bar, and peanut butter cup, plus hints of oaky vanilla and bourbon flavors.
