Every first Sunday of the month, Peaks & Pints transforms its Events Room into Tacoma’s coziest little Belgian jazz club for Sunday Jazz Night with Kareem Kandi.
From 5 to 8 p.m., acclaimed saxophonist Kareem Kandi and his jazz trio weave together classic standards, blues, bebop, funk, and inspired improvisation while Peaks & Pints pours one of the world’s most distinctive beer styles: authentic Belgian lambic.
The pairing is no accident. Jazz and lambic both thrive on tradition, patience, and surprise. Jazz musicians begin with a familiar melody before exploring unexpected paths. Lambic brewers begin with centuries-old methods before wild native yeasts, oak barrels, fruit, and time create beers that can never be exactly duplicated. Every performance is unique. Every bottle tells a slightly different story.
To celebrate the connection, Peaks & Pints features a curated Sunday Jazz Lambic Flight showcasing exceptional examples of traditional gueuze, kriek, and other spontaneous-fermentation beers from Belgium’s legendary lambic producers. The flight is available throughout the day, while the live music fills the Events Room from 5 to 8 p.m.
