Stephanie Anne Johnson: Album Release Show | Saturday, Oct. 18 | Tacoma Armory Parade Floor, 7:30 p.m.

All October long, we at Peaks & Pints are pairing Tacoma Arts Month happenings with beers from our 13-door cooler — because art deserves a pint after the applause, and beer tastes better when it carries a story from the stage, the gallery, or the street.

Tonight, Tacoma Arts Live hosts the incomparable Stephanie Anne Johnson, our city’s own powerhouse of soul, country, and gospel. You may remember them from The Voice, where they wowed judges and millions of viewers with raw, radiant talent. Since then, Johnson has toured with legends like Mavis Staples, Macy Gray, and The Indigo Girls — and now returns home to celebrate the release of Sing, Baby!, a new studio album that hums with heartache, hope, and the pulse of the Pacific Northwest. Expect a night that feels less like a concert and more like communion — truth, groove, and grace in equal measure. Tickets are available here.

Cooler Prefunk: Fieldwork Brewing Night Maker
Before the lights dim and the first chord cuts through the Armory air, open Fieldwork Brewing Night Maker — an oatmeal stout dark as midnight vinyl and smooth as a gospel refrain. Cocoa, roasted malt, and low, steady soul — the perfect prelude to a night where Tacoma’s voice rises and the city sways along.
