Tieton Cider Works is less a newcomer and more a long-whispered family saga given fruit and fizz. Their land — Harmony Orchards — has been growing apples in Tieton, Washington, since the 1920s, and in 2008, Craig Campbell (third-gen orchard keeper, WSU horticulture alum) decided to test what cider apples and perry pears could do beyond dessert fruit. What started as a modest block of trial trees expanded over decades into the largest acreage of specialty cider apples and pears in Washington. Now, pressing, blending, fermenting, and packaging all happen just north of downtown Yakima, in a facility that feels like the intersection of farm ritual and craft ambition.
Peaks & Pints Monday Cider Flight: Tieton Cider Works
Tieton Hazy Strawberry
6.9% ABV | Strawberry-Infused, Unfiltered Apple Cider
Hazy Strawberry is Tieton’s sunburnt grin in a can — apples and ripe strawberries colliding until they blur into a ruby haze, unfiltered and unrepentant. The first rush is pure berry heat, juicy and lush, like summer collapsing into a jam jar, chased quickly by apple’s tart snap to keep it honest. Semi-sweet, smooth, and just clouded enough to feel a little untamed, it drinks like a barefoot picnic in August: refreshing, unruly, and maybe a little too easy to finish.
Tieton Spiced Pecan
6.9% ABV | Spiced Apple Cider with Pecan
Spiced Pecan is Tieton’s autumn reverie poured into a glass — sharp Yakima apples softened by the creamy hush of pecans, then wrapped in a mantle of warming spice. The first inhale drifts like apple butter simmering on a farmhouse stove, pecans toasting in the corner. A sip later, the tart fruit jolts awake but immediately eases back, mellowed by nutty richness until it feels almost decadent. Semi-sweet, cozy, and slyly nostalgic, it’s the cider equivalent of curling up under a wool blanket while the leaves set the horizon aflame.
Tieton Cranberry Cider
6.9% ABV | Semi-Sweet Apple & Cranberry Cider
Cranberry is no polite autumn aperitif — it’s a scarlet-edged grin from Yakima, where apples get tangled in the wild tartness of cranberries until sparks fly. The pour glows with ruby light, the nose a rush of fruit-driven tang like cranberry sauce plotting a coup at the holiday table. Semi-sweet yet brisk, it balances apple’s orchard glow with cranberry’s sharp bite, finishing clean, racy, and just a little rebellious. Think of it as Thanksgiving’s rowdiest guest, the one who won’t stop topping off your glass.
Tieton Bourbon Barrel Peach
6.9% ABV | Peach Cider Aged in Bourbon Barrels
Bourbon Peach is what happens when orchard innocence slips into the barrelhouse for a midnight tryst. Ripe Washington peaches ride over tart apples, then lounge in charred bourbon barrels until they hum with vanilla, oak, and a dusky echo of plum. The result is semi-sweet but never syrupy, a golden pour where sunlight braids with barrel shadow. It drinks like summer dressed for the speakeasy — peach brightness up front, whiskey warmth on the finish, and a sly reminder that even fruit can flirt with fire.
Tieton Fresh Hop Cider
6.9% ABV | Apple Cider Hopped Fresh with Mosaic Hops
Fresh Hop Cider is Tieton’s seasonal breather of green-leaf and tangy fruit — apples infused with Mosaic hops so fresh they still smell like the vine. Hints of tangerine and papaya leap first, carried on a floral breeze, before the apple’s crisp backbone snaps forward. Off-dry, drinkable, and aromatic, it’s a dance between orchard brightness and hop garden whispers. This is cider that smiles of harvest, fresh picked, wild in scent, and dangerously easy to finish.
