MORNING FOAM FOR WEDNESDAY, AUG. 17: A seven-taster flight of craft beer news, from the fluffy head all the way to the bottom gunk. …

Seattle’s Georgetown Brewing is diving headfirst into the Pokemon Go craze with a new beer called Pekkochu Imperial Pale Ale and ABV Public House in Hillsboro, Oregon, is hosting its beer release and gaming party.

One of the better craft beer festivals in the Pacific Northwest, Central Oregon’s largest beer festival returns this weekend to the beautiful setting of the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend. This year’s Bend Brewfest will feature over 70 breweries pouring its beers from Thursday, Aug. 18 through Saturday, Aug. 20.

A favorite ritual for many hikers, the post-trail beer is something residents of the Pacific Northwest might take for granted. We Washingtonians in particular are spoiled with some of the best trails and ales in the country. Here’s a pairing of two easy day hikes — just a short drive from Mt. Index Brewery & Distillery.

In a surprise move, Goose Island Brewery will hold their annual Migration Week this year in Eugene, Oregon rather than Portland. Kicking off next Monday, tons of rare Goose Island wild ales, sour fruit beers and barrel-aged beers will be tapped at daily events and Brewmaster/Lead Cellerman Patrick Reisch will be hanging out.

New Belgium Brewing has four new releases coming into the fall including the latest seasonal, Lips of Faith, Hop Kitchen, and stainless steel offerings. The beers include Pumpkick, a fall festival favorite; Le Terroir, one of New Belgium’s favorite wood-aged sours; Bretta IPA, which crosses wild Brettanomyces yeast with fruity hop varieties; and Fruit Fly, a refreshing stainless steel sour.

Death of a Brewery Salesman: It’s a strange dynamic that leads many people to believe that being a beer rep is quite possibly the best job on the planet. That’s what the buying public generally sees us doing: drinking beer on an expense account.

Margot Robbie might be a major Hollywood star, but that doesn’t mean that she’s not down to unwind like the rest of us mortals, with a shower beer.
