SUMMARY:Captain Dreamland Birthday Party
DESCRIPTION:Captain Dreamland Birthday Party\nWhen Rich Jamieson takes off his black-rimmed glasses\, he becomes Captain Dreamland. Professional-astigmatic-nearsighted beersmith for Rogue Ales by day\, then\, by simply removing his corrective lenses\, he becomes a superhero. One minute he’s peddling Dead Guy maibock with 20/80 eyesight\, the next he has X-ray vision\, can fly faster than a brewery centrifuge\, and is spinning the world backward to audition for Cassian Andor. How could Rogue Ales & Spirits have been so blind? Is it really possible that a pair of black-rimmed glasses concealed Jamieson’s true identity? Possibly find out at 6 p.m. Friday\, March 19 when Peaks & Pints hosts Captain Dreamland Birthday Party — a birthday party for Rich and his Alengers — Belching Beaver Brewery\, E9 Brewing\, Buoy Beer\, Wet Coast\, and Wingman. \nIn addition to beers from the five breweries at Peaks & Pints March 19\, Capt. Dreamland will tap his namesake beer\, Dreamland American Lager\, although Rogue Ales will tell you the beer was brewed in partnership with Dreamland Skateparks to benefit skateparks across the country. \n“For the last 31 years it has been our privilege to lift up our friends and neighbors by giving back wherever and whenever we could\,” says Dharma Tamm\, Rogue president\, in a media release. “A few years ago\, we learned of the dire state of the Newport Skatepark and made it our goal to improve the park. How do you fund an important cause like this? Beer’s always a good place to start\, so we launched Dreamland American Lager — a beer to benefit skateparks in our community and beyond.” \n“I had to stop using the Newport Skatepark as my parkour training center\, but that’s cool\,” replies Capt. Dreamland. “I’m stoked to drink the refreshing classic American lager at Peaks & Pints on my birthday. The lager has a touch of spice and earthiness from the Sterling hops\, with subtle sweetness in the finish.” \n“Rich wanted to call himself Capt. Outta Line after Rogue’s Outta Line West Coast IPA\,” added Paul Whitcomb\, sales executive for Wet Coast Brewing. “Katie Johnson from E9 Brewing and I talked him out of it as we thought it might be an issue as he wants to supply wedding reception toasts more.” \nStop by Peaks and Pints March 19 for amazing beer and semi-amazing feats of strength. \nCAPTAIN DREAMLAND BIRTHDAY PARTY\, 6 p.m.\, Friday\, March 19\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, reservations highly recommended on the Open Table app\, no cover but some undercover \nLINK: Peaks & Pints vs. Rogue Ales

SUMMARY:Fly With Friendly Beer Guys
DESCRIPTION:Fly With Friendly Beer Guys\nIt was the French in the 1870s who made the first paper toys based on the idea of flight: paper and feather ornithopters\, fanciful helicopters\, balloons\, and eventually airships. French toy makers also offered one of the first models of the Wrights’ plane in 1908. \nSauvignon blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region of France. The grape most likely gets its name from the French words sauvage (“wild”) and blanc (“white”) due to its early origins as an indigenous grape in South West France. \nThese two French inventions will collide at 6 p.m. Thursday\, Sept. 19 when Peaks and Pints hosts the release party for the Wingman Brewers and Airways Brewing Nelson Sauvin\, Sauvignon Blanc hazy double IPA collaboration — complete with paper airplane contest. Brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops\, the IPA receives a healthy addition of Sauvignon blanc wine grapes for a grape nose. We’ll also tap other craft delights from the two airplane-themed breweries. \nLadies and gentlemen\, the brewers have turned on the Fasten Seat Belt sign. If you haven’t already done so\, please stow your carry-into luggage underneath the barstools. Please take your seat and construct your paper airplanes. And also make sure your friend is in a full upright position. \nCheers! \nFLY WITH FRIENDLY BEER GUYS\, 6 p.m. Thursday\, Sept. 19\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Wingman S'mores Porter release party
DESCRIPTION:What happens when the owners of Wingman Brewers and Peaks and Pints gather around a campfire to toast their latest collaboration batch of Peaks and Pints Perfect Proctor Porter? Yes\, a mean game of Kick The Can\, but also a recipe development for their new collaboration\, S’mores Porter. \nChildhood memories in an adult beverage\, indeed: Wingman Brewers and Peaks and Pints will release S’mores Porter on draft and in cans at 6 p.m. Wednesday\, Sept. 6 at Peaks and Pints bottle shop\, taproom and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District. \n“To refresh everyone’s memory\, s’mores are the tasty treats prepared for dessert around the campfire\, including roasted marshmallows and chocolate between two graham crackers\,” said Peter Brown\, Wingman Brewers lead brewer on the S’mores Porter. “I think this porter will turn out as delicious and drinkable.” \nBrown\, Wingman co-owner/sales director Daniel Heath and Peaks and Pints co-owner Ron Swarner brewed the first batch in July 2017\, singing campfire songs as they stirred Pale\, Chocolate\, Victory\, Black and Carafa Type 2 malts in the mash tun. As Cascade and Saaz hops boiled the three campers tossed in an endless stream of marshmallows and Honey Maid Graham Crackers. \nIn addition to draft\, S’mores Porter will be available in 12-ounce cans. Tacoma graphic artist Sam Dollar designed the can\, featuring caricatures of the three Peaks and Pints owners wilderness camping with Brown\, Thoburn and Heath. \n“It’s pretty awesome\,” added Robby Peterson\, the one who brings the beer to the campfire\, at least according to the can’s label. \nIn addition to pints and cans of Wingman’s S’mores Porter at the Sept. 6 release party\, Peaks and Pints will serve Tacoma’s Auntie B’s S’mores Jars\, the house dessert featuring chocolate cream\, ganache\, spiced cookie crumble and vanilla-honey kissed meringue. \nFor complete story on the Wingman Brewers / Peaks and Pints S’mores Porter\, click here. \nWINGMAN S’MORES PORTER RELEASE PARTY\, 6 p.m. Wednesday\, Sept. 6\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, (253) 328-5621

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Lodge Meeting with Wingman Brewers
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints will celebrate Wingman Brewers’ new Pockets Aces Double IPA release at a Lodge Meeting Thursday\, March 2. Eureka and Denali hops are the new pilots for this double IPA\, which has 50 percent more grain and 100 percent more hops than its Ace IPA. \nPeaks and Pints will also pour other Wingman brews from our western red cedar tap log\, including the Peanut Butter Cup P-51 Porter\, an Experimental IPA and\, of course\, the Perfect Proctor Porter brewed with the Peaks and Pints’ staff. \nWe’ll be hosting a paper airplane contest with prizes for flight patterns and design.
