SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints New Year’s Eve Cider Social
DESCRIPTION:Frankly\, going to a friend’s house to drink sub-Korbel champagne as everyone huddles around a TV to watch the ball drop is not going to cut it for a year like this. \nSo let’s drink craft cider at Peaks and Pints … while watching the New Year’s Eve ball drop on our big screen. \nPeaks and Pints will load up our Western red cedar tap log with the most delicious of craft ciders: 2 Towns\, Ace\, Atlas\, Finnriver\, One Tree\, Seattle\, Snowdrift\, Schilling and others. Sure\, we’ll still have a bunch of craft beer on draft\, all the sandwiches\, chill vibe — and champagne toast at midnight — but we definitely will partay down with some mother-lovin’ cider\, boyz und bizzies! \nPEAKS AND PINTS NEW YEAR’S EVE CIDER SOCIAL\, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.\, Sunday\, Dec. 31\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Proctor Arts Fest After Party
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints Proctor Arts Fest After Party \nIt’s 5 p.m. on a Saturday\, and you’re leaning against Nalley Pickles barrel wood converted to a bar top at Peaks and Pints\, a 20-month old bottle shop\, taproom and restaurant that’s quickly gained a reputation as a hangout for folks looking for an Proctor Arts Fest after party. It’s a mostly sunny\, 79-degree\, Aug. 4 2018 day and you’re toting three full bags of purchased goods and a 20-by-20-inch watercolor of Tacoma founding father Allen C. Mason under your arm. Through Peaks retractable front windows you spot a few folks pleading for sales past the 5 p.m. Arts Fest closing time. People pack Peaks and Pints — some looking for reposed\, many for sandwiches\, most for Two Beers Brewing and Seattle Cider craft liquids. A couple Arts Fest organizers move through the crowd chatting it up with participants. \nA guy in an orange T-shirt starts sketching the room. Jessi and Jared aka Champagne Sunday\, who performed several hours early on the Fest’s main stage\, describe their Gritty City Sirens burlesque project to an older couple. A 24-year-old attorney and 45-year-old nurse battle it out on the jukebox (the young female get the best of him). At this moment\, you understand what Peaks and Pints Proctor Arts Fest After Party is all about. It’s an aboveground attempt to hold on to the days’ creativity while sipping on craft beer and cider from After Party sponsors Two Beers and Seattle Cider. It’s a way to share all the multicolored glory over a pint of Two Beers Mango Passion Fruit IPA. \nIf you’re looking for cuddle puddles\, tiny-T-shirt-wearing candy culture\, Gothic-style chandeliers or some strange world where Alice in Wonderland meets Hunter S. Thompson\, you won’t find it at the Peaks and Pints Proctor Arts Fest After Party. Rather you’ll find Two Beers’ Wonderland Trail IPA with its citrus and passionfruit flavors quite pleasing after a day checking out contemporary art quilts. You never though a Two Beers sun-dried raisin-chocolate-toffee SoDo Brown ale would hit the spot flipping through piles of colored pencil art on a warm summer day. Juried art show\, sidewalk chalk art\, face painting\, your maniac children running around Proctor — all good reasons to hang out that night with Seattle Cider Lavender Lemon at Peaks and Pints. \nAs you move from the bar to the corner nook next to the fireplace\, with the sun shining on your face\, you think about the after parties you enjoyed back in your rave days. You chuckle under your breath. That day\, the only thing you are raving about is how Two Beers’ delicious Proctor Peaks IPA pine profile takes you back to that one rave in the woods when you painted your fingernails and toenails with heavy-duty $2 glitter nail polish while wearing bargain women’s costume garb\, a bright pink wig and read the Lorax to the crowd. Nice. \nPEAKS AND PINTS PROCTOR ARTS FEST AFTER PARTY\, 5-8 p.m. Saturday\, Aug. 4\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints SudsPop: Seattle Cider and Kim Archer
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints SudsPop: Seattle Cider and Kim Archer \nWith Thanksgiving approaching\, Peaks and Pints gives thanks daily for having Eric Willard and Kim Archer in our lives. We have known the Seattle Cider/Two Beers Brewing executive and award-winning R&B singer\, respectively\, for many years. We’re thrilled to host Peaks and Pints SudsPop: Seattle Cider and Kim Archer Wednesday\, Nov. 14 — a week earlier than typical SudsPop session due to the turkey holiday. \nEach SudsPop session features beer or cider insider\, an exclusive one-off beer or cider brewed by the guest brewery or cidery and a chosen artist or band in our East Wing events room. For the Nov. 14 SudsPop\, Willard will discuss how to open a cidery and what it takes to produce award-winning cider while Archer performs favorite from her vast repertoire —just her and her guitar. \nIn 2009\, with sales tripling in less than a year\, Two Beers Brewing Co. moved its full operation from a tiny spot in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood into a 2\,400 sq. ft. SoDo neighborhood brewery and tasting room. The brewery grew quickly. Tacoman Eric Willard\, who worked across the street at Tiny’s Organic\, wandered over to Two Beers and began a friendship with owner/head brewer Joel VandenBrink. Willard would often push aside his beer and help wash pint glasses and fill kegs. He would deliver kegs to Tacoma taverns on his way home. \nVandenBrink launched the Seattle Cider Company in August 2013\, with the help from his Two Beers sales rep and a former farm hand Willard. VandenBrink launched the cider company with only two products: Semi Sweet and Dry. VandenBrink didn’t launch with six to 10 products\, common with start-up craft breweries. He didn’t launch with experimental pineapple cider or pomegranate cider. No\, VandenBrink\, Willard\, up-and-coming cider savant Brent Miles and the Seattle Cider crew — with natural support from the Two Beers crew too — hit the market with two\, solid ciders. And the cider company sprouted big and wide. \nWhen you feel the music\, you feel the music. And Kim Archer feels the music. She has been active in the Tacoma music scene since 2004\, after she moved here from her hometown in Indiana. Archer’s powerful voice a la Janis Joplin and Chaka Khan commands the stage playing her own original songs rooted in old school soul\, funk and classic rock\, sultry blues and ballads while remaining a master at giving choice cover tunes the “Kim Archer treatment\,” such as the crowd pleasing “Shaft.” \nWillard will pour Seattle Cider’s holiday cider\, explain the science behind it\, as well as the in and outs of opening a cidery and answers question. Archer will perform her latest works\, as well as her popular hits. \nPlease join us 7-9 p.m. Wednesday\, Nov. 14 in the Peaks and Pints East Wing for an incredible night of cider and song. \nTickets are $14 plus tax\, which includes the special event ciders\, nibbles from Peaks and Pints kitchen and\, of course\, all the cider education and music. There’s a limit of 20 people. Tickets are available at Peaks and Pints. \nPEAKS AND PINTS SUDSPOP: SEATTLE CIDER AND KIM ARCHER\, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday\, Nov. 14\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, $14 presold

SUMMARY:Two Beers Climb For A Cause Benefit
DESCRIPTION:Two Beers Climb For A Cause Benefit\nIn July 2019\, Two Beers Brewing and Seattle Cider Co. are sending eight of their staff to Mount Rainier’s summit in order to raise money for Washington’s National Park Fund\, or WNPF\, the official philanthropic partner of Mount Rainier\, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks. The funds raised by WNPF help fund 50-75 projects annually in these parks\, which the staffs at Two Beers and Seattle Cider visit\, climb and bike monthly\, if not weekly. \nPeaks and Pints will host a fundraiser for that WNPF Climb For A Cause team at 6 p.m. Thursday\, June 6. In addition to games\, raffle prizes\, beer and cider\, donations will be accepted\, as well as Peaks and Pints contributing portions of draft sales that night. \nBeginning their partnership in 2016\, Two Beers Brewing has been raising funds for WNPF through sales of their flagship brew\, Wonderland Trail IPA\, and a series of fundraising events. In 2018 Two Beers raised $25\,000 for WNPF\, surpassing their $20\,000 goal\, and sent a team of eight to summit Mount Rainier with the help of International Mountain Guides (IMG). On summit day in 2018\, due to dangerous avalanche conditions\, the Two Beers Climb for a Cause team watched the sunrise from Disappointment Cleaver\, 12\,300-foot elevation and only 2\,000 feet shy of the summit. Hungry for a summit this year\, Two Beers’ Climb Team captain Kristen Oliphant calls her journey\, “the greatest physical and mental challenge I could endure. I am honored to be a part of such a wonderful cause as my team and I raise awareness to keep our beautiful National Parks protected.” With four veteran climbers from 2018 and four new climbers\, the team comprised of staff from Two Beers\, Seattle Cider\, and Sound Craft Seltzer are eager to prove both their fundraising and climbing prowess. \nAt the Two Beers Climb For A Cause Benefit\, Peaks and Pints will pour Two Beers’ And Justice For Ale\, Wonderland IPA\, and Field Day IPA\, plus Seattle Cider’s Pineapple Agave and Lavender Lemon. \nTWO BEERS CLIMB FOR A CAUSE BENEFIT\, 6-8 p.m. Thursday\, June 6\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, donations accepted
