SUMMARY:Bale Breaker × Maui Brewing Frenz IPA Release Party
DESCRIPTION:Bale Breaker × Maui Brewing Frenz IPA Release Party\nFriendship has always been one of craft beer’s secret ingredients\, and Bale Breaker Brewing’s long-running Frenz Series celebrates that idea one collaboration at a time. For the newest release\, the Yakima hop-farm brewery teamed with Hawaii’s Maui Brewing Company to create a tropical IPA that bridges hop country and island flavor. \nBrewed with pilsner malt and flaked rice for a light\, crisp body\, the beer layers pineapple and guava alongside Citra\, Krush\, and Dolcita hops\, delivering bright citrus\, tropical fruit\, and easy-drinking sunshine in every pint. \nPeaks & Pints will tap the new Frenz IPA Friday\, March 13\, alongside additional beers from Bale Breaker and Maui Brewing for a special cross-Pacific tap takeover. Stop in\, grab a pint\, and celebrate the kind of brewing friendship that starts in Yakima hop fields and ends somewhere near a Hawaiian beach. \nBale Breaker × Maui Brewing Frenz Release Party\nFriday\, March 13\, 5-8 p.m.\, no cover\nPeaks & Pints\, Proctor District\, Tacoma \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Narrows & Matchless 30 Minute Tour IPA Release Party
DESCRIPTION:Narrows & Matchless 30 Minute Tour IPA Release Party\nTime loosens its grip a little on Thursday night as Peaks & Pints hosts the Tacoma release party for 30 Minute Tour IPA\, a collaboration that treats the I-5 corridor like a shared heartbeat rather than a boundary. Narrows Brewing (Tacoma\, 2013) and Matchless Brewing (Tumwater\, 2017) meet in the middle with a beer that speaks in two hop dialects — crisp\, West Coast snap on one end\, softer hazy glow on the other — same road trip name\, different soundtracks. The night unfolds as a guided tasting crawl: four stations total\, two Narrows\, two Matchless\, each staffed with a human guide offering tastes\, swag\, and context. Visit all four in 30 minutes if you’re feeling spry\, or wander at your own pace and let the clock melt. Both versions of 30 Minute Tour pour fresh on tap alongside additional draft selections from each brewery\, making this less a static release and more a living conversation you walk through\, glass in hand. Punctual curiosity encouraged; overthinking politely discouraged. \nNarrows & Matchless 30 Minute Tour IPA Release PartyThursday\, Jan. 15\, 5–8 p.m.Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp ProctorNo cover \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Fort George 2025 3-Way IPA Release Party
DESCRIPTION:Fort George 2025 3-Way IPA Release Party\nSummer is an exciting time for beer nerds. Regionally\, the season is met with the release of Fort George Brewery‘s (Astoria\, Ore.) 3-Way IPA. The hoppy beer is an annual collaboration — in its 13th year — with two other West Coast breweries. Sunriver Brewing (Sunriver\, Ore.) and Mirage Beer (Seattle\, Wash.) join this year’s brew. Join Peaks & Pints for the Official Tacoma 3-Way IPA Release at 5 p.m. Wednesday\, May 21. We will have 3-Way and other Fort George beers\, plus several from Mirage\, on tap. Fort George Sale Executive Kyle Vormestrand will be in-house sampling and handing out swag from 5-8 p.m. \nTHE STORY \nFort George’s 3-Way IPA has become a signal to the start of summer. Once a year\, Fort George extends an invitation to two breweries\, chosen for their mastery in the art of IPAs. The goal is to come together\, exchange knowledge\, forge lasting friendships\, and create an IPA that everyone is excited to drink along the way. That collaboration is then brewed\, packed into a brilliant new 16-ounce can\, and sent out for the pure enjoyment of the Pacific Northwest. \nThe three breweries start by brainstorming beer sessions in the fall\, brewing Beta IPAs\, blind tastings\, lab tests\, aroma analysis\, color checks\, and long conversations until it’s perfect\, and then putting the newly minted star on stage. The result is like a fine-tuned bluegrass trio on washtub bass\, washboard\, and flute. The line-up changes yearly\, and no two 3-Way IPA collaborations are the same. \nThis year\, Mirage\, Sunriver Brewing\, and Fort George embark on an incredible journey — scaling the cliffs of flavor\, fording rivers of hops\, and crossing fragrant meadows of delicious malt to bring home the perfect West Coast IPA. Brewed with Krush (formerly HBC 586)\, Waimea\, and Nelson hops\, 2025’s 3-Way IPA is a summer beer for summer. This year’s 3-Way artwork is by amateur pet specialist Patrick Long from Portland. \nSee you at Peaks Wednesday with all the swag and such. Cheers! \nFORT GEORGE 2025 3-WAY IPA RELEASE PARTY\, 5-8 p.m.\, Wednesday\, May 21\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints pFriem West Coast IPA party
DESCRIPTION:pFriem Family Brewers has just released West Coast IPA\, their sixth beer in their year-round 12-ounce can\, and Peaks & Pints celebrates with a release party for the new red can at 5 p.m. Tuesday\, Aug. 29 in our North Tacoma lodge. \npFriem’s West Coast IPA is brewed with high-quality pale malt from British Columbia\, and a touch of corn sugar to allow the hops to effuse a vibrant aroma. The beer incorporates a blend of Pacific Northwest’s powerhouse\, Citra\, and Oregon’s new-school hop\, Strata. This fusion creates bright\, aromatic notes of tangerine\, cannabis\, strawberry\, starfruit\, and grapefruit\, and features a lean and bright palate. This contemporary interpretation of the classic style is designed to be dry and crisp\, with a modern and striking hop profile. \nPeaks & Pints hosts a release party for the new pFriem West Coast IPA Aug. 29. We’ll also tap pFriem’s flagship IPA for side-to-side comparisons\, plus several other pFriem beers. \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Friendship Is Magic Party July 6
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints Friendship Is Magic Party July 6\nPeaks and Pints Friendship Is Magic Party July 6 stars the Bale Breaker Brewing and Sierra Nevada Brewing Frenz IPA friendship collaboration. In addition to enjoying Frenz IPA and other Bale Breaker and Sierra Nevada beers on tap — including a blend from the two breweries — Peaks & Pints will also host friendship bracelet crafts and best friend approved swag. This celebration of friendship benefits GLAAD\, a non-profit organization focused on LGBTQ advocacy and cultural change. \nWhile Bale Breaker and Sierra Nevada have collaborated in the past\, this release is the very first time Sierra Nevada brewers have come to Bale Breaker to brew\, rather than the other way around. Bale Breaker\, a brewery located on their family’s fourth generation hop farm in the beautiful Yakima Valley\, has been celebrating their 10th anniversary this year inviting friends to brew different versions of their Frenz IPAs. The summer version of Frenz IPA is a collaboration with longtime brewing mentors and friends\, Sierra Nevada\, as well as Yakima Chief Hops and NZ Hops showcasing two exciting new hop releases from Superdelic and Nectaron. Bale Breaker Frenz IPA: Sierra Nevada offers notes of nectarine\, mandarin\, white grape\, and peach\, with 7.1 percent ABV. \nFor the Frenz IPA full story\, click here. \nPEAKS AND PINTS FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC PARTY\, 5-8 p.m. Thursday\, July 6\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma

SUMMARY:Matchless and Kulshan release Cold Illumination IPA
DESCRIPTION:Matchless and Kulshan release Cold Illumination IPA\nIt’s going to be cold at Peaks & Pints on Dec. 20. Really cold. It’s true. The mercury will drop 15 degrees turning toes to ice\, numbing faces\, and ears will fall completely off\, and with blue\, chattering lips buried beneath nine layers of fleece\, people will say this is the absolute coldest they have ever felt in their entire lives\, despite the fact it will be 72 degrees inside Peaks & Pints on that Tuesday. You see Matchless Brewing and Kulshan Brewing have seen the light! And it’s cold. The two Washington breweries brewed Cold Illumination\, a cold IPA\, and will release it Dec. 20 at Peaks. \nDon’t worry. Matchless and Kulshan won’t give you a cold shoulder. They’ll be in the house with warm thoughts and slightly warmer beers from each of their breweries\, although those beers will also be mighty cold. \nCOLD ILLUMINATION IPA RELEASE PARTY\, 5-8 p.m. Tuesday\, Dec. 20\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Reuben’s Brews Dream Team Tacoma Release Party
DESCRIPTION:Reuben’s Brews Dream Team Tacoma Release Party\nReuben’s Brews continues their 10th Anniversary celebration reuniting their friends Fort George Brewery and Great Notion Brewing — the team behind the spectacular 2017 Fort George 3-Way IPA. The Seattle brewery brings the other two breweries back\, this time to Seattle\, to meld minds and brewer paddle techniques for the satisfying hazy IPA\, Dream Team Hazy IPA. Peaks & Pints will host the Tacoma release party 6-8 p.m. Tuesday\, March 15\, which will include special one-off beers from Reuben’s Brews’ cellar.\nDream Team Hazy IPA beer comes in loaded with fresh juicy flavors of grapefruit\, stone fruit\, passionfruit\, and a bit of pineapple in the pleasant lingering finish. Its cloudy appearance is lighter in color and offers a nice white head. The malt bill of Dream Team includes Gambrinus Pils\, Malted Oats\, Flaked Oats\, and Flaked Rice while the hop bill shines with Cryo Simcoe\, Nelson Sauvin\, Riwaka\, and Citra Incognito. Dream Team sits at well-hidden 7.2 percent ABV. \n“With this new collaboration we didn’t just want to recreate the beer we brewed five years ago\, so we focused on trying to recapture the magic that made that collaboration a success\,” says Reuben’s Brews Co-Founder Adam Robbings in a news release. “We’ve all learned a lot since then\, and we all brought new ideas to the table this time around. It felt like the old days\, just having fun\, trying new ideas\, playfully one-upping each other.” \nREUBEN’S BREWS DREAM TEAM TACOMA RELEASE PARTY\, 6-8 p.m.\, Tuesday\, March 15\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma \nLINK: Peaks & Pints cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Brewshed IPA South Sound Release Party
DESCRIPTION:Brewshed IPA South Sound Release Party\nJoin Washington Wild at Peaks and Pints in Tacoma for the release of Bale Breaker Brewing Co.’s Brewshed® IPA — the fourth and final brew of the nonprofit’s 2019 quarterly charity beer series\, “From Peak to Pint\,” Tuesday\, Oct. 29. \nWild\, forested watersheds provide a natural filter that maintains high quality water — water that makes tasty downstream beer. That is what Washington Wild calls the Brewshed® Connection. Washington is home to critical habitat for endangered salmon\, which is why Bale Breaker teamed up with Roy Farms to brew a refreshing IPA using salmon-safe hops. \nPeaks and Pints will tap Bale Breaker’s Brewshed IPA\, as well as other Bale Breaker craft beers\, Oct. 29\, plus donate $1 per pint from all draft sales to help Washington Wild protect clean water\, the number one ingredient in beer\, from the top of the mountain to the bottom of your glass. Clean water equals better beer. \nSince 1979\, Washington Wild has played an invaluable role in permanently protecting nearly three million acres of Wilderness throughout Washington state. The Seattle-based nonprofit brings people together in the vigorous defense of our remaining wild forests\, waters\, and wildlife. By educating\, empowering\, and mobilizing our communities\, Washington Wild builds powerful grassroots networks that help protect wild lands and waters throughout the state. SUMMARY:The Occidental Beerist in Tacoma
DESCRIPTION:The Occidental Beerist in Tacoma\nThe German Beer Purity Law — Reinheitsgebot — is three years past its quincentennial: 500 years of absolutely nothing but barley (or wheat)\, hops\, water and yeast. Not so much as a spruce tip or cacao nib may defile anything called “beer.” Occidental Brewing’s brewmaster Dan Engler mostly brews beers in the spirit (if not the letter) of the Reinheitsgebot. Opening in 2011 in Portland’s St. Johns neighborhood\, Occidental makes some of the best German-style beers in the Northwest\, including their authentic Bavarian Hefeweizen. It’s hefeweizen makes one want to throw on a pair of lederhosen over your flannel. If you like wheat beer — heck\, even if you hate it — you must try this sweet\, banana- and clove-scented hefeweizen pouring from Peaks and Pints’ Western red cedar tap log Wednesday\, Feb. 27 during Occidental Brewing’s Tacoma Launch Party. \nDid you choke on your Occidental Hefeweizen as you read that last sentence? Yes\, You have been enjoying Occidental craft beers for quite some time at Peaks and Pints\, but that’s because the brewery’s sales executive Chris Spinelli has been periodically driving his beer up to Tacoma. SUMMARY:Deschutes Can Release Party
DESCRIPTION:They said it couldn’t be done. They said it shouldn’t be done. But it all worked out. \nGood beer comes in cans. \nYes\, bad beer comes in cans. There’s no denying it. But in recent years there’s been a canning revolution — a “canversion\,” if you will — among craft brewers. From the thickest stout to the bitterest IPA\, the range of delicious beers found in cans is growing by the day\, making shotgunning and days at the track that much more enjoyable. \nBeer purists freaked out when Dale Katechis started canning his craft beer in November 2002\, in a warehouse in back of his original Oskar Blues Grill & Brew joint in Lyons\, Colorado\, on a dinky machine that sealed one can at a time. \nWhat will people do today when Deschutes Brewery officially releases its cans\, including a 4 p.m. Deschutes Can Release Party at Peaks and Pints bottle shop\, taproom and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District. Deschutes will release three cans: Fresh Squeezed IPA\, Pacific Wonderland Lager and Mirror Pond Pale Ale. Still freak out\, we imagine. \n“Cans of craft beer are meant to be brought along and cracked open wherever you need them — at a music festival\, after a killer ride\, on an epic paddle trip\, camping in the backcountry or hanging out at Peaks and Pints\,” says Norm Cartwright\, Deschutes’ sales executive for Washington state. \nIn addition to offering the three Deschutes cans\, Peaks and Pints will pour Deschutes beers from its Western red cedar tap log\, including the Bend brewery’s new Pear and Bergamot Sour Ale\, a kettle lacto soured beer with notes of pear and citrus with a floral aroma. \nDESCHUTES CAN RELEASE PARTY\, 4 p.m.\, Monday\, March 5\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Double Mountain Dry Cider Release Party
DESCRIPTION:Double Mountain Brewery has long toyed with releasing their own hard cider\, occasionally featuring housemade cider on at the taproom made from owner Matt Swihart’s own apples. The Oregon Hood River Gorge-based brewery finally releases it sown Dry Cider (6.7% ABV) blending freshly harvested heirloom apples from Double Mountain Orchards and Hood River Newtowns\, Braeburns\, and Hanners for old world complexity. Double Mountain gave it plenty of time to dry out and develop the aromas of juicy pear\, lychee\, green fruit\, and chamomile.  It finishes tart\, crisp\, dry and quenching. \nPeaks and Pints will host Double Mountain owner Matt Swihart and the South Sound release party for Dry Cider at 6 p.m. Monday\, Dec. 5. In addition\, Double Mountain Imperio Stout (nitro) and Meadowlane Farmhouse Ale will pour for the first time in Washington state\, right from the Peaks and Pints’ Western red cedar tap log. Also on draft will be Double Mountain’s Devil’s Kriek Lambic and Fa La La La La Winter Ale. \nSwihart and the Double Mountain Brewery crew will raffle off their goods\, too. \nLINK: Q&A with Double Mountain Brewery brewer and musician Matt Coughlin
