SUMMARY:Beer For Clean Air Mountain Festival
DESCRIPTION:Beer For Clean Air Mountain Festival\nThink mountain climbing in Washington state and the mind naturally gravitates to Mount Rainier. No other mountain within the contiguous United States is as extensively glaciated or has as much prominence. Climb for Clean Air is an exclusive mountaineering training and fundraising program designed to give you the training\, technical support and guide services you need to summit magnificent mountains safely\, including Mt. Rainier. \nPeaks and Pints has converted its annual Mountain Beer Fest into the annual Beer For Clean Air Mountain Festival\, a fundraiser for American Lung Association’s Climb for Clean Air\, which will be held Saturday\, May 4 inside our craft beer bar\, bottle shop and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District. Bonus: Peaks and Pints co-owner Ron Swarner is participating in the Climb For Clean Air climb to the top of Mt. Rainier June 27. Please help him raise money for the American Lung Association and his journey up the mountain at beerforcleanir.com. Swarner has dealt with exercise-induced asthma since the mid-’90s. Climbing 14\,411 feet up to the summit seems daunting with impaired lungs\, but he finds comfort climbing with the American Lung Association. \nStay tuned for the mountain beers line-up! \nChances are you know someone who has faced the challenges of asthma\, COPD\, lung cancer or air pollution. By making a donation to beerforcleanair.com on Swarner’s behalf\, you will be helping the American Lung Association provide community based education programs\, fight for cleaner air standards and fund life-saving research. With your help\, we will fight against lung disease and for lung health. \nCheers! \nBEERS FOR CLEAN AIR MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL\, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday\, May 4\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Gives A Damn: Give Blood Get Beer
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints Gives A Damn: Give Blood Get Beer\nYou need to give blood. It’s been too long — just about a year\, you think. You certainly have a pint to spare\, a pint whose red cells will be replenished at the rate of 2 million EVERY SECOND. \nThe Cascade Regional Blood Services hosts a blood drive program titled “Give Blood Get Beer” — a program where if you donate a pint of blood you will receive a pint of beer. Cascade Regional Blood Services blood drives enable local restaurants and pubs to support our community’s blood supply in a unique and fun way. Peaks and Pints craft beer bar\, bottle shop\, and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District\, will host A Give Blood Get Beer blood drive 1-4 p.m. Sunday\, April 7. \nBut getting back to the Peaks and Pints’ point\, you need to give\, not just because you’re in the mood or because Cascade Regional Blood Services will give you a pint of beer at Peaks and Pints craft beer bar. No\, you need to give because lives are on the balance awaiting your donation. Lest that sound like your blood is something special\, it’s no more special than Peaks and Pints or your sister’s or the blood of the guy sitting next to at Peaks and Pints. But it’s blood\, and it’s rich with possibility and with life. There’s no substitute for blood. If people lose blood from surgery or injury or if their bodies can’t produce enough\, there is only one place to turn — volunteer blood. \nNever given blood? Consider these tips. … \nDrink a lot of water beforehand\, and be sure to eat a healthy meal. Think iron-rich foods. \nTalk. Peaks and Pints turns into quite the chatterbox when we give blood\, probably because it takes our mind off liquid being siphoned from our veins. Bless the patient technicians\, whom you’ll ask about their families\, their jobs\, the weather. We suggest you just start naming off the possible craft beer you’re going to drink at Peaks and Pints with your beer voucher. \nHang in the Blood RV as long as you need. Load up on those snacks. If you feel light-headed\, tell someone. \nReady? There’s a sign-up sheet at Peaks and Pints\, or just show up Sunday afternoon\, April 7. \nPEAKS AND PINTS GIVES A DAMN: GIVE BLOOD GET BEER\, 1-4 p.m. Sunday\, April 7\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Gives A Damn: Rainier Beer For Tacoma Trees
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints Gives A Damn: Rainier Beer For Tacoma Trees\nIf you know Robby and Justin Peterson\, you knew Rainier Beer would be a part of their Peaks and Pints craft beer bar\, bottle shop and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District. Not only do they adore the taste\, they also house a Rainier Beer museum inside their other joint\, Peterson Bros. 1111. The beer born in 1893 at the Seattle Brewing and Malting Company\, Rainier sits in our cooler\, as well as permanently flows from our Western red cedar tap log. It’s a no-brainier that Rainier hugging\, tree hugging Peaks and Pints hosts Rainier Beer For Tacoma Trees Saturday\, March 30\, an opportunity for Tacomans to have a beer or two in the craft beer lodge and learn more about some of the organizations and programs dedicated to sustaining and increasing the number of trees in the City of Destiny. Forty cents for every Rainier beer sold during to Rainier Beer For Tacoma Trees will be donated to the Tacoma Tree Foundation. \nIn addition to Rainier\, the Tacoma Tree Foundation and City of Tacoma will advocate for more trees in Tacoma at Peaks and Pints March 30. Founded in 2018\, The Tacoma Tree Foundation empowers community members to plant and care for trees in Tacoma. A TTTF representative will be on hand to speak and answer questions about their newly-formed non-profit. The City of Tacoma will also be joining the event to talk about their urban tree canopy goals and programs\, particularly their free and discounted tree programs available for Tacoma residents interested in planting their own. \n“Caring for the Pacific Northwest’s environment is inherent in Rainier’s culture and true to our brand\,” says Kurt Stream\, a field-marketing representative for Rainier Beer. “And as a resident of Tacoma myself\, I’m excited to make the Tabs for Trees program hyper-local and put together an event that makes a positive environmental impact in the place I call home.” \nThrough the end of March\, Rainier Beer cans feature a special red Tabs for Trees tab. For every 24 tabs collected — the number of cans in a case of beer — and returned to Rainier\, one tree will be planted to help sustain the forests of the Pacific Northwest. Peaks and Pints and 30 or so other restaurants\, taverns and bars in Tacoma are participating by collecting the tabs. Since 2014\, Rainier has planted more than 100\,000 trees across the Pacific Northwest as part of Tabs for Trees. This year\, Rainier’s goal is to plant an additional 20\,000 trees — 5\,000 each across Washington\, Oregon\, Idaho and Montana. \nStop by Peaks and Pints from 4-6 p.m.\, help Tacoma plant more trees and enjoy a Rainier with Robby and Justin Peterson. \nPEAKS AND PINTS GIVES A DAMN: RAINIER BEER FOR TACOMA TREES\, 4-6 p.m. Saturday\, March 30\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, #TabsForTrees

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Gives A Damn: Tree Hugging with Patagonia Brewing
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints Gives A Damn: Tree Hugging with Patagonia Brewing\nIf you love cool shade\, oxygen\, and beautiful tree lined streets\, then head to Peaks and Pints at 5 p.m. Friday\, March 22\, grab a pint of Patagonia Brewing Bohemian Pilsner and pick up a six-pack of the pilsner to go. Mother Earth would appreciate it. \nPatagonia Brewing Co.\, originally from the Patagonia region in South America\, believes life is best lived as an adventure. In an effort to reduce their global carbon footprint and to guarantee freshness\, the brewery is brewing their Bohemian Pilsner in Fort Collins through their “Buy a Case\, Plant a Tree” program. Partnering with the National Forest Foundation\, they will donate one tree to be planted for each case sold; 17 trees for every keg. Cerveza Patagonia has committed to supporting National Forests by planting at least 200\,000 trees by 2020. \nAs we learned in third grade biology\, trees are essential to life. They create the very air we breathe and filter air pollution. What you may not know is that trees also build soil and help soak up stormwater before it can create a flood\, and they offer energy-saving shade that reduces global warming and creates habitat for thousands of different species. Trees also help to reduce ozone levels in urban areas. Most importantly\, trees sequester carbon\, helping to remove carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the air\, which cools   earth. In fact\, a mature canopy tree absorbs enough carbon and releases enough oxygen to sustain two human beings! \nPatagonia Bohemian Pilsner has a rich golden color\, a slightly sweet taste\, and a refreshing and crisp finish. The soft carbonation makes it an easy to drink beer. Peaks and Pints likes to pair it with our Sherpa sandwich — turkey\, goat cheese\, arugula\, red onion\, tomato and spicy mayonnaise on French bread. Pilsner might be the most versatile food beer\, with hops being able to cut through the spicy mayo and enough bubbles to cleanse the palate after the goat cheese. When in doubt\, grab a pilsner. \nPEAKS AND PINTS GIVES A DAMN: TREE HUGGING WITH PATAGONIA BREWING\, 5 p.m.\, Friday\, March 22\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, no cover
