Then\, you’ll be thrilled to hear the Elysian Pumpkin Road Show Tacoma returns to Peaks and Pints Thursday\, Sept. 26. \nDuring the Elysian Pumpkin Road Show at Peaks and Pints\, the Seattle brewery will serve pumpkin beer out of an actual hollowed-out giant pumpkin flowing through two taps\, orange spheres will fly through the air into Solo Red Cups and a giant jar of pumpkin seeds will wait for the best count guess. \nNo\, we do not mess around with autumn celebrations here at Peaks and Pints. \nThursday\, Peaks and Pints will host the third annual Elysian Pumpkin Road Show Tacoma\, a prefunk to the Seattle brewery’s grand pumpkin affair that includes 80-plus pumpkin beers Oct. 4-5 — the Elysian Great Pumpkin Beer Festival at the Seattle Center. Peaks and Pints will pour Elysian pumpkin beers Gourd Father pumpkin barleywine\, Hansel & Gretel Ginger Pumpkin Pilsner\, Old Fashioned orange pumpkin strong ale\, Punkuccino Coffee Pumpkin Ale and others. \nIn addition to the pumpkin beers\, we’ll present a pumpkin firkin\, pumpkin beer pong\, pumpkin seed guessing and giveaways\, including two pairs of tickets to the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival in Seattle. \nFall has long been the season of the gourd. There’s nothing like a swarm of pesky mosquitoes to ruin a fun evening on the deck or around a campfire. Peaks and Pints is convinced they swim in insect repellent\, drinking it like it was wine. \nPeaks and Pints will host a Pray For No Mosquitoes Party with Elysian Brewing and others at 6 p.m. Thursday\, April 25. In addition to an official mosquito exorcism\, expect mosquito door prizes. \nThe mosquito season in the Northwest starts around mid-April and lasts until early October. The National Weather Service says there is a 50 to 80 percent chance the region will be hotter than usual\, and the Northwest is expected to get more precipitation throughout the summer of 2019 than usual\, which means there will most likely be more mosquitoes throughout the region this year\, too. \nWe need to take action before mosquitoes darkened the sky of a summer’s evening\, strafing our villages and carrying off children and livestock. Together\, we need to pray for no mosquitoes … while drinking beer. \nWhen it comes to mosquito exorcisms\, beer helps. DESCRIPTION:Party people old enough to remember Tacoma’s legendary Superfuzz parties should be stoked to know Peaks and Pints will recreate the experience during its Elysian Superfuzz Funkified Party Vol. 2 Thursday\, May 3. It might be an annual party for Peaks and Pints\, but Superfuzz style music pumping through the bottle shop’s jukebox\, it might be the single best excuse to party if you do nothing else. \n“What I can say about these songs\, and all the songs I consider essential Superfuzz music\, is they are all an easy groove and rhythm to drink Elysian Brewing’s Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale\,” says Reece Wonio\, regional sales manager for the Seattle brewery. “They’re not that very straight disco beat — the emphasis is on the groove\, not just the beat.” \nSuperfuzz is not choppy\, like freestyle or abstract jazz. It’s not Latin\, salsa or merengue\, nor drum ’n’ bass or dubstep. It’s R&B-based\, mostly written\, arranged\, and produced by bands and artists that can perform these songs live\, as good or even better than the recording. \nJoin Elysian Brewing for the South Sound seasonal release and tasting of its Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale\, a mind-bending whirl of the aromas and flavors of blood orange and Northwest hops. Guests are encouraged to dress in funky Superfuzz attire while Peaks and Pints pumps Superfuzz through the jukebox. \nIn 1996\, the SuperSonics reached the NBA Finals\, Nirvana released “From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah\,” and Elysian Brewing Company poured its first beer in Seattle’s Capitol Hill. A lot has changed since\, but the beer is still flowing from Elysian\, 22 years later. Five years ago this month\, Elysian took an easygoing blend of Northwest Pale\, Munich and Dextri-pils malts\, Citra and Amarillo hop cones and a dusting of blood orange peel\, called it Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale and all was groovy. \nIn addition to Superfuzz\, other Elysian beers flowing from peaks and Pints’ western red cedar tap log will include Fuzzduster\, a blend of Space Dust and Superfuzz\, Kappa IPA and a couple one-offs. \nThis Orangesploitation will go down at 6 p.m.\, Thursday\, May 3\, in Peaks and Pints in Tacoma’s Proctor District.
