SUMMARY:Ecliptic Brewing and Brooklyn Brewery Tacoma Tap Takeover
DESCRIPTION:Ecliptic Brewing and Brooklyn Brewery Tacoma Tap Takeover\nThe Brooklyn Brewery and Ecliptic Brewing tap takeover is going down Monday\, April 1 inside Peaks and Pints’ little lodge in Tacoma’s Proctor District. It’s true. Ecliptic picked Peaks and Pints to showcase their newest Cosmic Collaboration series\, “5 Beers for 5 Years\,” in which the Portland brewery collaborates with five other esteemed breweries to brew five celestial concoctions\, then taking each collaboration on separate tours supported by tapped craft beer from both breweries. Brooklyn Brewery certainly didn’t tell famed Brewmaster Harris no; the two breweries brewed an amazing Tangerine Farmhouse Ale to kick off the first tour\, which Peaks and Pints will host the Tacoma release party April 1. \nAs guests enjoy the bright tangerine and balanced farmhouse spice of the Ecliptic/Brooklyn Tangerine Farmhouse Ale\, they’ll ponder their next pints from a draft list that includes Brooklyn’s Lager\, Bel Air Sour\, Sorachi Ace Saison and Black Chocolate Stout. Ecliptic’s Luna Kolsch and Starburst IPA will be icing on the fifthwery\, craft beer\, tap  anniversary cake. \nCheers! \nECLIPTIC BREWING AND BROOKLYN BREWERY TACOMA TAP TAKEOVER\, 6-9 p.m. Monday\, April 1\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover \nLINK: Ecliptic Brewing 5 Beers For 5 Years: Brooklyn Brewery in Tacoma

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Bellingham Beer Week Prefunk
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints Bellingham Beer Week Prefunk\nThere’s amazing craft beer being brewed within a few miles of Peaks and Pints craft beer bar\, right now. In many ways\, that’s the best consequence of the craft beer explosion. But despite this convenience\, every now and then it’s a good idea to step outside of our bubble. In the craft beer world\, there are some undeniable stronghold cities. Seattle. Portland. San Diego. Denver. Bellingham. \nIndeed we said Bellingham. \nWatching Bellingham\, Washington’s beer scene progress during the last few years has been amazing. To go from one brewery to 30 and counting in the last few years is nothing short of impressive. And now\, seeing brewers testing the boundaries of traditional palates\, breweries engaging the community in all sorts of events and activities\, farm to pint initiatives and bringing culinary pairings into the mix — these are all ways in which the Whatcom County breweries and craft brew scene continues to kick butt. \nBellingham Beer Week kicks off Friday\, April 19 for nine days of parties\, brewery events\, speakers\, craft beer releases\, and more\, ending Saturday\, April 7 with the famous April Brews Day Festival featuring more than 70 regional breweries. \nPeaks and Pints hosts a Bellingham Beer Week Prefunk at 6 p.m. Thursday\, April 4 with Aslan Brewing\, Boundary Bay Brewery\, Chuckanut Brewery\, Gruff Brewing\, Kulshan Brewing\, Menace Brewing\, North Fork Brewery\, Stones Throw Brewery\, Structures Brewing\, and Wander Brewing pouring their latest craft creations from our Western red cedar tap log. \nPEAKS AND PINTS BELLINGHAM BEER WEEK PREFUNK\, 6-9 p.m.\, Thursday\, April 4\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Gives A Damn: Give Blood Get Beer
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints Gives A Damn: Give Blood Get Beer\nYou need to give blood. It’s been too long — just about a year\, you think. You certainly have a pint to spare\, a pint whose red cells will be replenished at the rate of 2 million EVERY SECOND. \nThe Cascade Regional Blood Services hosts a blood drive program titled “Give Blood Get Beer” — a program where if you donate a pint of blood you will receive a pint of beer. Cascade Regional Blood Services blood drives enable local restaurants and pubs to support our community’s blood supply in a unique and fun way. Peaks and Pints craft beer bar\, bottle shop\, and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District\, will host A Give Blood Get Beer blood drive 1-4 p.m. Sunday\, April 7. \nBut getting back to the Peaks and Pints’ point\, you need to give\, not just because you’re in the mood or because Cascade Regional Blood Services will give you a pint of beer at Peaks and Pints craft beer bar. No\, you need to give because lives are on the balance awaiting your donation. Lest that sound like your blood is something special\, it’s no more special than Peaks and Pints or your sister’s or the blood of the guy sitting next to at Peaks and Pints. But it’s blood\, and it’s rich with possibility and with life. There’s no substitute for blood. If people lose blood from surgery or injury or if their bodies can’t produce enough\, there is only one place to turn — volunteer blood. \nNever given blood? Consider these tips. … \nDrink a lot of water beforehand\, and be sure to eat a healthy meal. Think iron-rich foods. \nTalk. Peaks and Pints turns into quite the chatterbox when we give blood\, probably because it takes our mind off liquid being siphoned from our veins. Bless the patient technicians\, whom you’ll ask about their families\, their jobs\, the weather. We suggest you just start naming off the possible craft beer you’re going to drink at Peaks and Pints with your beer voucher. \nHang in the Blood RV as long as you need. Load up on those snacks. If you feel light-headed\, tell someone. \nReady? There’s a sign-up sheet at Peaks and Pints\, or just show up Sunday afternoon\, April 7. \nPEAKS AND PINTS GIVES A DAMN: GIVE BLOOD GET BEER\, 1-4 p.m. Sunday\, April 7\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:An Afternoon With Dragon’s Head Cider
DESCRIPTION:An Afternoon With Dragon’s Head Cider\nCalling all cider lovers! Thursday\, April 11\, 4-6 p.m.\, Peaks and Pints we’ll be hosting An Afternoon With Dragon’s Head Cider. Named for the dragon that guards the apples of immortality in the Garden of Hesperides\, Dragon’s Head Cider was founded in 2010 on Vashon Island. Ignoring their last name\, owners Laura and Wes Cherry planted a beautiful orchard of apples and pears with production held on site. The Cherry’s don’t believe in cold storing their apples; they press during harvest season at its peak ripeness. Once pressed\, the fruit ferments in winter\, is blended in spring\, and ready to be bottled by early summer. \nType “Drink high-end craft cider at Peaks and Pints Thursday afternoon” on your calendar. \nOh\, and there will be coloring contest\, too. \nAN AFTERNOON WITH DRAGON’S HEAD CIDER\, 4-6 p.m. Thursday\, April 11\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:American Beauty Night at Peaks and Pints
DESCRIPTION:American Beauty Night at Peaks and Pints\nSaturday\, April 13 is Record Store Day\, an event created 12 years ago to salute independent record stores and generate interest in them with a slew of new vinyl releases made available that day. (Never mind the fact that for some\, every day is Record Store Day\, really.). Peaks and Pints celebrates the day\, actually two days earlier\, every year with Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales. Thursday\, April 11\, Dogfish Head returns to Peaks and Pints for a pre-Record Store Day celebration. Every year\, the Baltimore brewery creates the official beer of Record Store Day; this year they return to a classic — their American Beauty pale ale brewed with their longtime friends the Grateful Dead. Brewed to 6.5 percent ABV to commemorate the year the Grateful Dead was formed (1965)\, American Beauty is an all-American pale ale infused with granola and succulent wildflower honey. First concocted back in 2012\, American Beauty sits in Peaks and Pints’ cooler in 12-ounce bottles with red\, white and blue packaging featuring the band’s iconic dancing bears. April 11\, we’ll tap American Beauty\, as well as other Dogfish Head beers Sirecusa Nera imperial stout\, World Wide Stout\, Barrel-Aged Palo Santo\, last year’s Record Store Beer\, Dragons and Yum Yum Pale Ale\, and many other Dogfish beers. \nIt’s easy to get cynical about what Record Store Day has become. Nowadays there are huge lines and the limited-edition release you’ve been eyeing gets gobbled up and sold on eBay for a big profit. But let’s keep our eye on the ball here — you’re still feel the collective excitement and anxiety joining music dweebs in line talking about music and whatever limited thing they wanted that day\, you’re spending the day surrounded by great music and\, in doing so\, supporting an ever-important local institution. Here in Tacoma\, we’re lucky it’s “institutions” with an “s\,” thanks to the likes Hi-Voltage Records\, Rocket Records and House of Records. Similar\, Peaks and Pints feels the excitement every year when we tap a bunch of Dogfish Head crafty beers and giveaway a record player — this year an American Beauty-themed Crosley record player. The Delaware brewery is also turning up the volume with the creation of Sage & Spirit\, a limited edition 10-track vinyl album that will release on the actual Record Store Day. \nThursday\, April 11\, Peaks and Pints will be the spot for delicious Dogfish head beers\, jam band music\, a sweet-ass record player giveway and more. \nAMERICAN BEAUTY NIGHT AT PEAKS AND PINTS\, 6-8 p.m. Thursday\, April 11\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Pike Brewing 30th Anniversary Prefunk
DESCRIPTION:Pike Brewing 30th Anniversary Prefunk\nOct. 17\, 1989\, the Pike Place Brewery\, as it was then known\, officially opened in the old Liberty Malt Supply space under the Pike Place Market on Western Avenue in downtown Seattle. Owners Charles and Rose Ann Finkel had opened specialty beer importer Merchant Du Vin 11 years earlier\, bringing their favorite ales in England\, fruit beers in Belgium and pils\, dunkels and dopplebocks in Bavaria to the States. At the time there were only three other craft brewers in Washington state and IPAs were hard to find on tap or in bottle. A lot transpired at the brewery since\, including a name change to the Pike Brewing Company\, but Charles and Rose Ann still proudly own the brewery and the history of beer museum that doubles as their restaurant and taproom. Thursday\, April 18\, Peaks and Pints will cheers Pike Brewing’s 30th anniversary pouring the Seattle brewery’s latest beers and hosting past and present Pike brewers. \nOn that fateful day in October 1989\, The World’s Shortest Non-Motorized Uphill Parade marched toward Pike Place Brewery to officially open the brewery’s doors. Leading the parade was Liberty Malt Supply’s John Farias\, pushing a keg of Pike Pale Ale in a silver\, two-wheeled hand truck. Following were the Finkels\, Franz and Angela Inselkammer from Bavaria’s Ayinger Brewery\, and Pike Brewing’s first brewer\, Jason Parker. Parker will join current Piker brewer\, Art Dixon\, who began brewing at age 7\, and went on to be the head brewer at Pyramid Brewery. Parker is the co-founder and president of Copperworks Distilling. \nPlease join Peaks and Pints in saluting the third brewery to launch in Washington state\, Pike Brewing\, at 6 p.m. Thursday\, April 18. Proceeds from Pike Brewing sales will go toward nonprofit Washington Trails Association and its efforts to protecting trails\, mobilize hikers and build a statewide system worthy of our state’s majestic wild places. \nCheers! \nPIKE BREWING 30TH ANNIVERSARY PREFUNK\, 6-8 p.m.\, Thursday\, April 18\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints Pray For No Mosquitoes Party
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints Pray For No Mosquitoes Party\nThere’s no doubt mosquitoes are an annoyance. There’s nothing like a swarm of pesky mosquitoes to ruin a fun evening on the deck or around a campfire. Peaks and Pints is convinced they swim in insect repellent\, drinking it like it was wine. \nPeaks and Pints will host a Pray For No Mosquitoes Party with Elysian Brewing and others at 6 p.m. Thursday\, April 25. In addition to an official mosquito exorcism\, expect mosquito door prizes. \nThe mosquito season in the Northwest starts around mid-April and lasts until early October. The National Weather Service says there is a 50 to 80 percent chance the region will be hotter than usual\, and the Northwest is expected to get more precipitation throughout the summer of 2019 than usual\, which means there will most likely be more mosquitoes throughout the region this year\, too. \nWe need to take action before mosquitoes darkened the sky of a summer’s evening\, strafing our villages and carrying off children and livestock. Together\, we need to pray for no mosquitoes … while drinking beer. \nWhen it comes to mosquito exorcisms\, beer helps. In addition to Elysian Salute The Sun Black Lime Hazy Pale\, Superfuzz Blood (sucking) Orange Pale\, Fuzzdusters\, expect Sunriver’s Vicious Mosquito IPA\, Avery Bug Zapper and other pest beers. \nLet’s take back the outdoors Thursday night. But remember\, as your dad always said\, just “close the damn door!” \nPEAKS AND PINTS PRAY FOR NO MOSQUITOES PARTY\, 6 p.m.\, Thursday\, April 25\, Peaks and Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover
