SUMMARY:Peaks & Pints hosts Finnriver Cidery can release party
DESCRIPTION:Peaks & Pints hosts Finnriver Cidery can release party and tap takeover\n“In the quiet hollow of the Chimacum Valley\, as the first green shoots push through soil warmed by lengthening days\, we at Finnriver find ourselves at a similar threshold of emergence and renewal\,” states Finnriver Farm & Cidery. “Like the apple trees in our orchard awakening from their winter slumber\, we too are stretching toward new possibilities while remaining rooted in what matters most.” With spring’s warmth\, Finnriver canned two of its beloved varieties\, Bloom and Blush. In celebration of Finnriver’s first canning\, Peaks & Pints hosts a Finnriver can release party and tap takeover. \nBloom is a semi-dry\, fruity\, and bright in a can. Crisp\, organic Washington apples dance with sweet\, organic blueberries\, lending this sparkling cider its distinctive purple hue. \nBlush is dry\, crisp\, and light in a can. Tart\, organic Washington apples meet organic black currants in this beautiful\, pink-hued sparkling cider. \nIn the rolling farmland of Chimacum Valley along a salmon stream just south of Port Townsend\, the Finnriver orchards stretch across 80 acres using more than 20 varieties of apple trees. Its mission is to reconnect people to the land that sustains us and to grow community. It seeks to create deep-rooted and fruitful connections at their farm-based taproom and rural gathering space. Finnriver’s farm and orchard are Certified Organic and Salmon Safe\, and the company is a Certified B Corporation\, seeking to make business a force for good. The cans represent a natural progression in Finnriver’s story\, making its ciders more accessible for adventures beyond the farmstead while remaining true to its principles of working with organic ingredients. \nJoin Finnriver Farm & Cidery at Peaks & Pints 5-8 p.m. Thursday\, May 8\, for a night of drinking some of the best cider made in Washington state. \nFINNRIVER CIDERY TAP TAKEOVER AT PEAKS & PINTS\, 5-8 p.m. Thursday\, May 8\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Peaks & Pints Sunday Jambic & Lazz
DESCRIPTION:Peaks & Pints Sunday Jambic & Lazz\nPeaks & Pints wants you to have a musty\, old leather\, barnyard\, horse-blanket\, and tart good time Sunday night. This should be easy since we’re pairing lambics with jazz in our Events Room from 5 to 8 p.m. Every first Sunday\, we host Jambic & Lazz\, an early evening of lambics paired with Kareem Kandi and his jazz trio. \nLambic\, like music\, requires years of dedication and a consuming passion. Whether straight\, faro\, gueuze\, or fruit-based\, lambics are produced only in one area of Belgium\, the Senne River Valley\, south and west of Brussels in the Pajottenland region. Officially speaking\, lambic is an appellation like “Champagne” and “bourbon”; the l-word is strictly enforced and reserved for beers made exclusively in said region. Most importantly\, they’re beers spontaneously fermented by the airborne wild yeasts and bacteria present in this valley and nowhere else on the face of the Earth. Nature didn’t just bless this area with the right yeasts and bacteria — it also endowed it with an ideal climate for slow fermentation\, easy access to French wine barrels\, and even tart Schaerbeek cherries. The real beauty of these ales is how different they are from brewery to brewery\, batch to batch\, barrel to barrel. Hell\, the beer even changes with each sip down the glass. Adventure is out there — or at least in our Events Room. \nThe coolest cat in Tacoma\, saxophonist Kareem Kandi\, and his jazz trio perform on the first Sunday in the Peaks & Pints Events Room. Kandi is a versatile musician with strong roots in the traditions of jazz\, blues\, classical\, and funk\, and has been performing throughout the U.S. and abroad for years\, gaining attention from critics and audiences alike.  While staying true to the musical styles of the past\, he also keeps an eye toward the future by composing original music and new arrangements of timeless songs from the great American songbook. He just returned from a month-long tour in France\, so hopefully\, he will share stories.  \nJAMBIC & LAZZ with Kareem Kandi Jazz Trio and lambics\, 5-8 p.m. Sunday\, May 4\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Pouring It Forward Tacoma Beer Week 2025: Tacoma Arts Live & Living Haus Beer
DESCRIPTION:Pouring It Forward Tacoma Beer Week 2025: Tacoma Arts Live & Living Haus Beer\nPost-pandemic\, arts organizations have become isolated and entrenched in surviving and attracting audiences. Attendance at traditional performing arts events continues to be depressed. \nDespite playing host to 90 creative entrepreneurs\, including musicians\, clothing designers\, improv theater\, and other creatives\, plus their educational arts programs that serve 40\,000+ students\, teachers\, and parents annually in the South Sound\, Tacoma Arts Live\, located in the Tacoma Armory\, struggles with less funding. \nAs part of Tacoma Beer Week\, Peaks & Pints will host Tacoma Arts Live and Living Haus Beer on Thursday\, March 6. TAL will offer free mini-performances throughout the night while audiences sip on Living Haus Beer. Living Haus will also host a plant swap. The brewery invites the public to bring plants or clippings for trade and grab mature clippings from plants growing in its tasting room in Portland. Peaks & Pints will donate draft proceeds from the Tacoma Beer Week 2025 event to Tacoma’s beloved arts organization. \nPOURING IT FORWARD TACOMA BEER WEEK 2025: TACOMA ARTS LIVE & LIVING HAUS BEER\, 5-8 p.m. Thursday\, March 6\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover \nPeaks & Pints Tacoma Beer Week 2025 events\nMarch 1\, 2-4 p.m.: Pouring It Forward: Beach Cleanup After Party with Silver City Brewery \nMarch 1\, 6-9 p.m.: Pouring It Forward: Proctor Polar Bear Crawl After Party with Drinking for Conservation at 7 Seas Brewing \nMarch 4\, 5-8 p.m.: Pouring It Forward: benefit for Tacoma Tree Foundation with Loowit Brewing \nMarch 5\, 3-6 p.m.: Grit & Grain Podcast with Lander Coffee and Logan Brewing \nMarch 7\, 5-8 p.m.: Pouring It Froward: Fundraiser for Multicare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital Facility Dog Program with Great Notion Brewing \nMarch 9\, all day: Tacoma Beer Week 2025 Finale with Incline Cider Tap Takeover \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Pouring It Forward Tacoma Beer Week: Drinking For Tacoma Trees
DESCRIPTION:Pouring It Forward Tacoma Beer Week: Drinking For Tacoma Trees\nOn Tuesday\, March 4\, the entire Tacoma Tree Foundation will be at Peaks & Pints with trees\, pine cone games\, and plans to bring more memorable tree moments to Tacoma. \nPeaks & Pints brewed their eighth house IPA at Loowit Brewing in downtown Vancouver. Since the brewery is named after Mount St. Helens and its eruption silenced many trees\, they called the beer Silent Trees IPA and have partnered with the Tacoma Tree Foundation\, once again\, to tell the stories of their favorite trees. As part of Tacoma Beer Week\, Peaks will host a fundraiser for Tacoma Tree Foundation with Loowit Brewing in the house. It will be a Tree-mendous night with tree education\, tree games\, and piney goodness to support community greening efforts in the Greater Tacoma area\, Pierce County\, and the watersheds of Puget Sound. Executive Director Lowell Wyse will briefly discuss their work while everyone drinks Loowit beer. Board President Luke Vannice will briefly talk about the challenges Tacoma is facing and what they’re doing about it. Loowit Head Brewer and co-owner Landon Smith will discuss his brewery and the beers on tap. Peaks & Pints co-owner Pappi Swarner will discuss the current Silent Trees Series. The craft beer bar has partnered with the Tacoma Tree Foundation\, and the night’s draft proceeds benefit the organization. SUMMARY:Tacoma Beer Week Pouring It Forward: Gose With The Flow
DESCRIPTION:Tacoma Beer Week Pouring It Forward: Gose With The Flow\nCommencement Bay is one of the brightest spots of hope for environmental restoration — thanks to the work of Communities for a Healthy Bay\, or CHB. On March 1\, the opening day of Tacoma Beer Week 2025\, Communities for a Healthy Bay and a local institution that lives and dies by clean water\, Silver City Brewery in Bremerton\, join forces with South Sound Surfrider for a community beach cleanup near Old Town Tacoma followed by the Gose With The Flow sour beer collaboration release party at Peaks & Pints in Tacoma’s Proctor District. \nFollowing the success of last year’s Tacoma Beer Week community clean-up sessions\, this year’s festivities include a beach clean-up at the Les Davis Pier and Jack Hyde Park near Old Town Tacoma from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday\, March 1. After the Saturday afternoon beach clean-up\, go with the flow to Peaks & Pints for the Silver City and Communities for a Healthy Bay unique ocean-inspired sour beer Gose with the Flow release party from 2-4 p.m. The CBH team traveled to Bremerton to brew Gose With The Flow\, a refreshing\, tart\, and subtly herbal sour crafted with regionally renowned lemon balm and San Juan Island sea salt\, echoing the crisp essence of Puget Sound. The crushable gose with bright citrus notes and a whisper of salinity will be a worthy reward after several hours of bagging garbage on the shores of Commencement Bay. \nA portion of draft proceeds will go toward keeping Tacoma’s waters clean and healthy. \nRead the full story at peaksandpints.com. \nTACOMA BEER WEEK POURING IT FORWARD: GOSE WITH THE FLOW\, 2-4 p.m. Saturday\, March 1\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

DESCRIPTION:Fort George Stout Month Finale in Tacoma\nPeaks & Pints will tap 16 2025 Fort George Festival of the Dark Arts stouts at 5 p.m. Thursday\, Feb. 27. \nIf you’ve ever wondered at the appeal\, the urge\, the drive to attend Fort George Brewery’s Festival of the Dark Arts\, if you’ve heard wisps of the mythology and the mystery and the epic weirdness or even seen a few pictures and wondered\, you know\, WTF\, maybe I should dress like Jack Sparrow and make my way through 80 exquisitely unique stouts on a cold mid-February Saturday in Astoria\, Oregon. It almost matters not from which brewery room you inhabit — Festival of the Dark Arts is an equal opportunity soul enricher. In your admiration for the magical menagerie of art and macabre entertainment — the ice\, glass\, ink\, and fire craftspeople — you’ll also taste the best in craft brewery-made stouts\, including 20 or so from Fort George proper. If you didn’t have tickets to this year’s Festival of the Dark Arts\, Peaks & Pints can\, at least\, offer you a taste of the giant stout festival as the touring Dark Arts roadshow ends at Peaks & Pints Feb. 27. Beginning at 6 p.m.\, we’re tapping 16 Fort George brewed stouts plus a few other tasty treats from the Astoria brewery. \nFort George Gilded Tiger \nFort George Murky Pearl \nFort George Chocolate Kraftwerk \nFort George Nitro Nog Log \nFort George King Baby \nFort George Tuesday’s Lunch \nFort George Lotta Ins\, Lotta Outs \nFort George Churro Cavatica \nFort George Barrel Aged Coconut Cavatica \nFort George Fudge Sickles \nFort George 2025 Matryoshka \nFort George 2025 Matryoshka with Vanilla Bean & Cocoa \nFort George 2025 Matryoshka with Vanilla Bean & Cinnamon \nFort George 2025 Matryoshka with Vanilla Bean & Pistachios \nFort George 2025 Matryoshka with Vanilla Bean\, Cocoa\, Pistachios & Cinnamon \nFort George Adversarial Patterns \nComplete beer descriptions can be found here. \nFORT GEORGE STOUT MONTH FINALE IN TACOMA\, 6 p.m. to close\, Thursday\, Feb. 27\, Peaks & pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints hosts Chuckanut Can Release Party
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints hosts Chuckanut Can Release Party\nChuckanut Brewery co-owner Mari Kemper returns to Peaks & Pints with lagers\, giveaways\, and her trademark charm. Yes\, Mari was in the house this past November. Yes\, we have invited her back to our craft beer and cider bar\, bottle shop\, and restaurant in Tacoma’s Proctor District. You would\, too\, if you had a giant beer cooler. The Burlington\, Washington\, brewery has added Pilsner and Kolsch cans to their core line-up — and we’re celebrating with a Chuckanut tap takeover and cans to-go from 5-8 p.m. Thursday\, Feb. 20. Chuckanut will also take over our five-taster flight Thursday. \nFor those who don’t know the Chuckanut Brewery story. … In 1984\, chemical engineer and homebrewer Will Kemper and his culinary crackerjack wife Mari left Boulder\, Colorado\, opened Thomas Kemper brewery on Bainbridge Island\, Washington\, and quickly moved it to Poulsbo. In 1992\, Thomas Kemper merged with Hart Brewing\, which became Pyramid Breweries. The Kempers signed a non-compete and left to become consultants with East Coast and international breweries. The Kempers took their non-compete and helped build the craft beer scene in North Carolina\, Pennsylvania\, Massachusetts\, Washington DC\, Mexico\, and Turkey. \nAfter traveling\, they moved to Bellingham\, where they opened Chuckanut Brewery in 2008. This convergence of technical and engineering concepts developed from more than two decades of professional involvement with craft brewing at home and abroad. They hired Josh Pfriem as their head brewer\, and later\, Kevin Davey grabbed the head brewer paddle. In late 2016\, Chuckanut launched a new 40-barrel production facility\, Chuckanut South Nut\, in Burlington. They closed Bellingham in mid-October 2021. \nTune in to Grit & Grain Podcast Episodes 50 and 51 to hear Mari and Will Kemper fill in the blanks with their accomplishments and amazing stories on their journey to open Chuckanut Brewery in 2008. Then\, head to Peaks & Pints on Thursday\, \nPEAKS AND PINTS HOSTS CHUCKANUT CAN RELEASE PARTY\, 5-8 p.m. Thursday\, Feb. 20\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cider cooler inventory

On March 1\, the opening day of Tacoma Beer Week 2025\, a local institution that lives and dies by clean water\, Silver City Brewery in Bremerton\, joins forces with South Sound Surfrider for a community beach cleanup near Old Town Tacoma followed by the Gose With The Flow sour beer collaboration release party at Peaks & Pints in Tacoma’s Proctor District. \nThe Grit & Grain Podcast will sit with the Communities for a Healthy Bay folks and Silver City Brewery owner Scott Houmes to discuss the collaboration at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday\, Feb. 19\, in the Peaks & Pints Events Room. All are welcome to join us for the hour-taping. For the uninitiated\, beer gurus Matt McLaren (Orcas Distributing)\, Ron Swarner (Peaks & Pints)\, and Bethany Carlsen (The Funk Busters) explore and celebrate the craft beer industry\, community\, and history in Tacoma\, Washington\, and surrounding Pacific Northwest region\, with assistance from opinionated beer industry insiders recording at Peaks & Pints on Wednesday afternoons. Engineered by Doug Mackey of Channel 253\, you can hear the three India Pale Yale graduates and featured guests every Friday as they think and drink in a room completely devoid of oxygen so as not to degrade the beer. \nRead the full story at peaksandpints.com. \nGRIT & GRAIN PODCAST WITH COMMUNITIES FOR A HEALTHY BAY AND SILVER CITY BREWERY\, 4:30 p.m. Wednesday\, Feb. 19\, Peaks & Pints\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover

SUMMARY:Peaks and Pints February Stout Month 2025
DESCRIPTION:Peaks and Pints February Stout Month 2025\nSo\, are you looking to have time of your life? \nRolling into Tacoma’s Proctor District for a 28-day stand at Peaks & Pints comes February Stout Month\, the full-bodied\, rich\, and creamy adaptation of the 1987 sleeper hit that made Patrick Swayze a household name. Through February\, the craft beer and cider bar\, bottle shop\, and restaurant will tap\, front and center\, six stouts\, imperial stouts\, and barrel-aged stouts on our Western Redcedar Tap Log. Neither a musical nor a dance revue\, February South Month is less a fresh re-imagining of the teen romance and more a fade to black and run wild with pitch-black ales. \nBaby may be the ugly duckling\, but she has options and adores milk stouts. Johnny? He’s a working boy with a bad reputation and loves to get dirty with adjuncts and smoked malts. Their forbidden love blossoms at Peaks & points as Johnny schools Baby in his dirty ways\, and she\, entering the realm of the senses\, becomes a barrel-aged freak. \nNobody puts Stout in the corner — at least at Peaks & Pints. Cheers! \nPEAKS AND PINTS FEBRUARY STOUT MONTH\, daily through February 2025\, 3816 N. 26th St.\, Basecamp Proctor\, Tacoma\, no cover (except Robbie Gould) \nLINK: Peaks & Pints beer and cicer cooler inventory

SUMMARY:Larrabee Lager Double Shot Wednesday
DESCRIPTION:Larrabee Lager Double Shot Wednesday\n  \nThe Pacific Northwest is blessed with many excellent breweries producing superb lagers\, including Chuckanut Brewery\, Lowercase\, Wayfinder\, Heater Allen\, Gold Dot\, and\, since 2023\, Larrabee Lager Company in Bellingham\, Washington. That’s the long route to announcing that Larrabee Lager will be the Grit & Grain Podcast at Peaks & Pints in Tacoma on Wednesday\, Feb. 12\, and the reason for a tap takeover the same night at the same place. \n  \nEven though Larrabee Lager opened in the summer of 2023\, it’s still not widely known in the South Sound\, as its self-distribution didn’t go beyond downtown Seattle. That’s changing. Larrabee recently signed a deal with Orcas Distributing\, which distributes beer across Western Washington to markets up and down the I-5 corridor. Since Sam isn’t feeling well this week\, Kate will sit with the Grit & Grain Podcast at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday\, February 12\, in Peaks & Pints’ Events Room. Afterward\, the party flows into Peaks’ main room for a Larrabee tap takeover. The Peaks’ Wednesday beer flight will also be Larrabee lagers.
