In a year when a whopping 861 breweries joined the ranks of America’s booming beer industry, choosing favorites is an almost impossible task. A decade ago that number represented more than half of the national total. So, to help Beer Advocate build its Class of 2016: 34 of the Best New Breweries in the US, it asked its readers, followers, and contributors for their suggestions. Here are 34 of the most promising newcomers, as chosen by you.

Pyramid Breweries announced the release of its spring seasonal, Triangulate Citrus Pale Ale and new Brewer’s Reserve series Railroad Avenue Imperial Porter. Triangulate hits shelves in next week. This refreshing new brew is dry-hopped with Lemondrop hops and real lemon peel for a big, citrusy nose and flavor.

Dank & Sticky IPA, the first beer to be released from the Hop Freshener Series in 2015, will be returning and heading to tap lines and bottle shops in next week. Brewed with Eureka, Mosaic, Cascade, Comet and Simcoe varietals, Dank and Sticky is a nod to the original West Coast-style IPAs.

People are going crazy right now for fruit IPAs and golden ales, and so that’s what brewers have to brew. Your local brewer would rather drink a saison, too, but there’s just not enough interest to push one to a national market. Welcome to the era of mass-craft.
